This delightful stone-built cottage offers the perfect getaway for larger groups of friends or family, located just metres from the beach, in the peaceful village of Newton-on-the-Sea.

Forming part of a beautiful collection of 22 cottages, this characterful four-bedroom property combines modern comforts with unique, traditional features. Set within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is the perfect place to enjoy the many activities it has to offer, including some fantastic walking and cycling routes. A beautiful sandy beach is a short stroll through the dunes, while the village of Beadnell, with its many water sports, is 5 miles away.

Enter this fabulous stone-built property into a hallway which leads to the kitchen/diner. The kitchen is equipped with everything the family cooks will need to prepare a delicious meal including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The large dining table can accommodate everyone together at mealtimes or for a fun, social catch-up. Double doors reveal the impressive lounge with six large windows and there are some fascinating hints of the building’s history as you enter this spacious circular area, which features intricate, exposed beams of the original farm ‘gin gang’, often known as a wheelhouse. The comfortable seating and wood burner effect gas fire makes this a wonderful room for you and your guests to unwind, while catching up on the day’s events and making use of the TV/DVD and CD Player for entertainment. One of the four bedrooms, a double, is located on the ground floor, with dual aspect windows, a dressing table, wardrobe and an en-suite shower room with WC. You’ll also discover a handy separate WC on this level. Head upstairs where a restful night’s sleep awaits in the second double bedroom with en-suite shower room with WC, as well as two further twin bedrooms. The main bathroom is also on this floor with bath and WC.

Step outside to relax in your garden area, while enjoying a little alfresco dining. Younger members of the family will love the outdoor children’s play area on the site with swings, slides and a climbing frame which is shared with other guests. You can arrange a family games night in the shared games room with separate WC, table football and a pool table, plus Smart TV with Sky Sports package. There is parking for one car next to the cottage plus ample parking for additional cars on-site, close by.

The Barn is spacious, well positioned on the well managed site and a pleasure to holiday in. The house is, and always has been, in pristine condition when we arrive, full marks to the cleaners. We look forward to returning.

The old barn had a beautiful size lounge, which very well provided for eight people. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. The only downside was that two of the four bedrooms did not have access to showers, only baths. The other two bedrooms had ensuite shower rooms. It was incredibly quiet considering it was in a complex of 20 also cottages.Read more A wonderful stay all in all Hide

Fabulous accommodation for our family of six adults a 3 year old and 9 month old infant. The location is perfect, the beautiful beach is just a 5 minute stroll over the dunes. A long sandy beach almost to ourselves. We loved the resident peacocks and peahen who visited us every day.. There is a good play area for the children and plenty of parking.

Spacious, comfortable, clean and well appointed holiday cottage. The beds were so comfortable that we all slept well. Kitchen had everything we needed. Best of all was the location - so close to a wonderful beach with soft golden sand and great birdlife. Recommend the Joiners Arms for a great gastro pub. We were a party of 8 ladies and this cottage is spacious enough to accommodate such a group very comfortably. The location could not be better with a walk to Beadnell heading north along the stunning beach or to Craster heading South. Eaqually stunning. Great choice of pubs offering great food too. Simply beautiful cottage.

As we were new to the area we would have appreciated more information on the walks the wildlife etc . It was a stunning location but we had little understanding of what was around us . That would have helped us make the most of the limited time we had . Overall it was a lovely cottage spotlessly clean in a beautiful spot .
