Keen walkers and dog owners will enjoy exploring the many footpaths that lead straight from the front door with great views towards the South Downs. Ashdown Forest and the Seven Sisters National Park are a short drive away. Those looking to soak up the local culture can enjoy the world-renowned Summer concerts at Glyndebourne Opera House, explore historic locations such as Lewes and Alfriston. Other local highlights include Charleston, former home of the Bloomsbury Group, and where Virginia Woolf would often visit, or the Rathfinny Wine Estate, one of Europe’s largest privately owned vineyards. Brighton is only a short drive away with its Royal Pavilion and a shopper’s paradise offering boutique shopping combined with fantastic places to eat and drink.

Step inside this property and enter into a hallway where there is space for dropping off muddy shoes and hanging coats, and then head on through into the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with the most fantastic views across the natural woodland pond and wildlife. The kitchen area is equipped for family entertaining with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a breakfast bar with stools. The lounge area offers a TV with BT Vision and DAB radio and its woodland views making it the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day. The dining table with seating for four is ideal for enjoying relaxed family meals. Two small steps from the kitchen area takes you up to where you will find two bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a king-size with views across the lake and access to the decked area. The property is completed with a shower room with shower and WC.

French doors open from the lounge area out onto the decking with dining table, chairs and charcoal BBQ, perfect for toasting marshmallows whilst star gazing and wildlife spotting in the evening. A garden gate at the end of the front garden gives direct access to the local countryside footpaths. At the front of the property is parking for two cars. The cottage was lovely, high standard furnishing and a beautiful location. We all loved our stay here and the owners and their dogs were great. I loved the kitchen equipment, usually there is something missing or not to the standard you like, but the owners had thought of everything and it was really fantastic. Thank you for a lovely break - exactlRead morey what we needed after the last year. Hide
