The small hamlet of Eye sits within the Herefordshire countryside close to the Shropshire and Welsh borders, an area that is steeped in history, within walking distance of the National Trust Berrington Hall and just 5 miles from Croft Castle. A well-trodden footpath will take you into Luston where you can enjoy food at the local pub. Nearby is the vibrant market town of Leominster renowned for its local antique and curiosity shops, and a short drive leads you to the cathedral city of Hereford. Just over the border is the market town of Ludlow with its medieval castle and its bustling farmers’ market and food-centre bursting with local produce. Further afield is The Elan Valley, Offa’s Dyke, and The Black Mountains.

Take some time to enjoy the views before you step down into a courtyard, landscaped with reclaimed wood and seasonal planting along with the cedar clad exterior which blends well into the surroundings. Step inside the hallway and enjoy the simple artwork of the local market towns and places of interest. The accommodation offers open-plan living within the original shell of a farm building, you can relax with friends in the cosy lounge in front of the wood burner. For dining, the round table and chairs are perfect for a hearty supper of local produce whilst you enjoy the views. The kitchen area will test the best of chefs, cool and contemporary with an induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, and an island where you can keep the chef amongst you company. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. So, when the day is done you will find the two bedrooms, a king-size with TV and another king-size enjoying countryside views. There is a bathroom with bath, separate walk in rain-water shower and WC. For additional storage there is also a cupboard in the hallway.

An immaculately presented property with many outside features (morning and afternoon patios, loungers, pizza oven) in a secluded location with expansive views out over the surrounding countryside. Very well equipped and furnished. Beds are very comfortable. Exposed timber roof trusses and thoughtful lighting are charming. Bifold doors connect the mRead moreain living space to the west-facing patio. Bathroom is well-appointed with both bath and large, walk-in shower. Hugely enjoyed our stay. Recommend. Hide

The Hen House is very tastefully decorated and equipped with everything well thought through and cared for. It is in a very quite area, is not overlooked and has beautiful views over the fields to the hills.

We found the property stylish and well equipped. The owner was on hand if needed, and we very much appreciated the extensive welcome pack. The outside space and views are amazing, unfortunately the weather was mixed and therefore did not allow us the opportunity to try the outdoor pizza oven.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful escape to the Hen House. There was plenty of space and Heather had thought of everything when it came to home comforts. The victoria sponge cake waiting for us on arrival was especially welcomed after a long journey! Spotlessly clean, cosy and with the added bonus of a pizza oven, we would highly recommend this propeRead morerty. A short drive to Ludlow, country walks on our doorstep and a Go Ape at Wyre (30min away), a terrific location too. We hope to stay again! Hide
