The hamlet of Aconbury consists of well-established farmland and an estate church, here you can leave the car behind and amble across the waymarked footpaths within 630 acres of farm and woodland or for keen anglers, cast a line in the coarse fishing lake. The River Wye is also within reach and great for fishing, walking and canoeing. For a little culture, there are many market towns worthy of a visit where you can pick up local produce from a farmers' market or browse the independent shops – Hay-on-Wye, Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye and Leominster all welcome you with an eclectic range of independent shops. Or simply step back in time and visit one of the many castles or historic monuments that are dotted across this border county.

Set within acres of established farmland, you can park up and walk down the pathway to your enclosed garden. The pod has been thoughtfully designed and offers everything for a stay in the countryside. A covered porchway is perfect for leaving boots. The pod offers spacious open-plan living that’s perfect for couples or a small family. The living area offers a seating area where you can relax in front of the TV, a table and chairs for dining with views onto the countryside, a kitchen space that’s got great workspace with an induction hob, countertop oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. And when the day is done, enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in the king-size bed – the bed even offers storage. There is a shower room with shower and WC.

Outside there’s an enclosed area that’s perfect for entertaining, here you can enjoy dining outside with a table and chairs before a chimenea and gas BBQ. Settle beneath the stars in the private hot tub where you can relax after a day of walking. There is also handy storage shed in the garden. Free coarse fishing available on the two adjacent lakes or book a spa treatment with the owner prior to arrival with the mobile spa. There is off-road parking for three cars.

Lovely place to try out some sheltered glamping. Surprisingly spacious inside, and decently kitted out if you are cooking meals. The large awning lets you enjoy the outside space and BBQ even when the Summer rains are pouring. And such a peaceful and pretty location to stop and enjoy nature, from the outside seating, to the bench by the lake, to thRead moree warmth of the hot tub. Hide

Fabulous location, so peaceful and beautiful. The bed was super comfy and the pod had everything I needed. I received a very warm welcome from Ginny & Alan and their family and they were always on hand if I needed anything (which I didn't) but they gave me space and privacy. I wouldn't think twice about returning.

We received a very warm welcome and showed how to work the hot tub. The welcome pack was really appreciated. There were generous supplies of tea, coffee and sugar as well as some lovely treats. The location by the lake and overview to the woods is very serene. The garden is a great size for dogs and secure, our BC had a great time! We loved the hotRead more tub which was so relaxing and private. Aside from a little (annoying) music from the next door pod we thoroughly enjoyed our mini break. Hide

The pods are in a lovely location on a working farm, great area to access the Forest of Dean, Ross & Hereford. The pods have everything you need and hosted by Alan & Gilly who were happy to help with advice on what to do in the area & where to walk. The hot tub was great even in the March snow!!
