On the doorstep, the wonderful street of elegant buildings leads you straight down to the town centre which provides an abundance of places to stop and take in the surroundings. Here you will find a vibrant cobbled high street with independent shops, bakeries and cafes, as well as intriguing museums and a bustling weekly market. Pack some walking shoes to discover the beautiful landscape. If you are into history, you’re spoilt with attractions, including Richmond Castle, museums, Easby Abbey, the River Swale Waterfalls and National Trust’s Hudswell Woods. Set on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and not far from the North Pennines and Nidderdale, there is plenty of countryside to explore on foot.

In an enviable location, this Georgian townhouse is set over three floors. Step inside the hallway and make your way through the lounge with comfy sofas and Smart TV, or find a seat in the second lounge across the hallway - ideal for groups of all ages. There is a dining area where you can enjoy sociable meals with your whole party and maybe a board game after dinner. The kitchen comes equipped with a gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave; there's even a Dolce Gusto coffee machine for your morning cup of coffee, which you can enjoy sitting outside in the patio area. There is a WC on the ground floor. Heading up to the first floor, there are three bedrooms: one super-king-size, one king-size and one twin. The first floor has two bathrooms, one shower room with WC and one with free standing bath, large shower and WC. Leading up to the second floor are the final two bedrooms, a king size with en-suite shower and WC and a twin room. Opposite this room is another shower room with a shower and WC.

From the kitchen, step out to the large south-facing patio. The ideal place to relax and bask in the afternoon sun after a day walking around the dale. Dine alfresco and light up the gas BBQ. There is an external bike store available with a washing machine. There is off-road parking for three cars.

Our second visit to Pottergate, perfect location and has everything you could need for a large party get together. Plenty space both inside and out as we were able to enjoy a couple of BBQs as weather was kind. Hi A large house ideal for family gatherings, plenty of space and well equipped. Richmond centre is on the doorstep, with plenty of pubs and shops to browse, lovely river at the bottom of the hill which is very steep.

Good location with easy 5 minute walk to market square and town facilities. The property is very warm and if I were the owner I would have thermostats fitted to radiators which might significantly reduce the electricity bill.

Lovely stay, catch up with a group of friends (9) great location, plenty room in the property both indoor and outdoors, bonus having bathrooms for each room. We all enjoyed our stay and would certainly return, both property and Richmond worth a visit.

Last minute booking for a family break. Location was perfect, the guest house was huge and accommodated 6 of us (plus dog) easily. It was clean and had plenty of kitchen equipment (no oven gloves). This is a great property in a wonderful location which is a great base for exploring some magnificent scenery. Richmond, with its steep hills, is not for the faint hearted. However, it is home to some great eateries at reasonable prices

Perfect location for a family holiday, a short walk to the centre of Richmond and all the attractions, and a park with a playground. A good location so you are not reliant on driving as there is a lot to see and do in Richmond.

Would recommend this house for a base to see that part of Yorkshire The town is beautiful and ful of restaurants and cafes and a very handy supermarket 5 mins away . Lovely comfy stay with everything we needed, very enjoyable holiday.

The property was clean and tidy! We really enjoyed the welcome package and was a lovely surprise on our arrival! The drive fitted all the cars and the location of the property was perfect access to the centre of town! We had the best holiday in this lovely cottage and would recommend it to anyone!
