This property is in the town of New Quay, a pretty seaside town on the West Wales coast. A quieter alternative to some of the bigger resorts such as Aberystwyth, New Quay is a quaint town where colourful Georgian houses line the seafront and visitors have a choice of two splendid beaches, both of which offer plenty of sandy space to relax. There is a good choice of shops, cafes, and restaurants and local amenities in the town, as well as several interesting attractions, including dolphin-spotting boat trips, a marine centre, and the Dylan Thomas Trail which allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of Wales' best-loved poet who once lived in the town. (Please check admittance for the various attractions).

Approach this property via a set of stairs that lead from the pavement outside; they cross a decked veranda before coming to the front door which opens directly into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Guests will easily find everything they will need here to cook up a storm in the kitchen area, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, and a washing machine is also provided. Moving past the kitchen to the lounge area, there are comfortable sofas from which to enjoy your favourite programmes on the TV. There is ample storage in the lounge with a good-size storage cupboard. The bedroom lies at the far end of the property and is an attractive double room with storage, and offers stunning sea views; a wonderful way to wake up. There is also a bathroom which has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, there is a wide decked veranda. The owners have thoughtfully provided garden furniture, making it easy to enjoy al fresco drinks on a sunny afternoon, or as the sun goes down. There are public car parks available nearby (charges apply).

Just returned from our trip to New Quay and stayed in the captains cabin. It has an unusual decor just like a proper cabin, the only thing that was annoying as others have said was the creaking floor boards. We got use to it and by the end of the week we stopped noticing them. The cabin is Perfect right in the middle of the town a couple of minutesRead more from the sea. You have to pay for parking which cost us 23.00 for the week, the car park is about 3mins from the cabin. We would happily stay again. Hide

Quirky place to stay very close to the harbour. No parking, but were able to drop off our things quickly before removing vehicle to car park. Comfortable accommodation, well equipped. Enjoyed New Quay as a holiday destination. Good fish & chips at Lime Crab. Coffee very good at Blue Bell. Also Moody Cow farm bistro on the road to Aberaeron had goodRead more food. Hide

This place is a haven with the lovely touch of feeling like you are in a ships cabin and the sit out area is a sun trap. What a wonderful little holiday retreat, right in the center of New Quay, highly recomended. The decor is fab, it was clean, tidy and cosy. The floors do creak, but, I think it adds to the Captains Cabin ambience.
