The bungalow is situated close to the pretty market town of Cockermouth, with a great selection of independent shops, restaurants and brewery as well as the coastal town of Maryport with it's marina and beaches. The property sits in an elevated position in a small hamlet with views from the back garden over the Fells. There are some fabulous walks from the front door, and it is a popular area for cyclists. You are just three miles from the coast and a mere seven miles from the Lake District National Park. William Wordsworth’s birthplace, House and Gardens are just a short drive away. Beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake is a short drive away, there is a shore path which runs the length of the West shore and an open-air theatre at Mirehouse which is worth a visit.

Entering the house from the hall you will find a welcoming, bright lounge with feature gas fireplace, Smart TV and countryside views, the kitchen and dining room are both just off the lounge making the living area within the house very sociable and spacious. The kitchen is equipped with breakfast bar, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The formal dining area, is in the conservatory, overlooking the enclosed garden and patio. From the kitchen walking back out through the hallway, there are three bedrooms, a king-size with smart TV, a single and a double. Completing the property is the bathroom across the hall from the bedrooms, with bath, separate shower and WC.

Heading out of the house into the large enclosed garden, there is a lawn to the front of the house and some lovely fruit trees, swings, picnic bench and patio with seating and swing chair to the rear of the property with a BBQ area (for use with disposable BBQ’s, not provided). The large private hot tub is so inviting, relax and take in the views over the Fells whilst enjoying a few drinks, it is also the perfect spot for star gazing. The garage is home to the utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a table tennis which will bring out the competition in the party. You might also spot a pigmy goat or Shetland pony in the fields at the back of the house. The drive has private parking for two cars.

Jills cottage is the definition of perfection. Jill was the perfect host, allowed us to get in and settled after a long drive before coming to see us. Jill was very warm and welcoming, showed us around the cottage, explained how to work everything and made sure we had no questions. The peace and tranquility we got here was second to none. Wonderful house with a fantastic garden and a lovely hot tub. The Kitchen is very well equipped and the house itself is peaceful, warm and very beautifully furnished. Its only a short journey to Maryport with its interesting harbour and restaurants etc. A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Thanks to Jill for being so helpful and kind.

The beautiful bungalow is spacious and well furnished and equipped. The covered hot tub is a bonus. It should appeal to visitors of all ages. My husband and myself are in our seventies and found the week very relaxing.

We had a great holiday at Oakdene. The cottage was beautiful, beds very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well stocked. We loved the table tennis and hot tub, great additions! The cottage is in a good location for Keswick and Derwent, Crummock and Buttermere lakes. Jill was a fantastic host.

Absolutely lovely property. Beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and just what a holiday home should be. The hot tub was a great experience and so easy to use and extremely clean. The table tennis was also brilliant fun and everything was so comfortable and easy to use - would recommend - we loved our stay!

What a pleasure to stay at Oakdene. The bungalow is equipped with everything you need and more. Such a lovely touch to have dressing gowns, towels and slippers. The hot tub was a great treat at the end of the day. Such a beautiful and cosy home. We absolutely loved our stay. I would definitely come back to stay here again.

This cottage is truly stunning. When we arrived, we were blown away at how beautiful the cottage was. Jill has thought of absolutely everything and her attention to detail is spot on. I cant think of one negative to this place. Jill is the loveliest host and has thought of everything including seasonal decor. Customised towels and robes for the hot tub are provided, beautiful diffusers throughout the house, gorgeous high quality furnishings in every room. The comfiest sofa and bed ever. Fab u lous!! Oakdene is a lovely property in the perfect base for exploring the Lakes. It is clean, comfortable and beautifully laid out. It comes supplied with everything you could possibly need. I stayed at Oakdene with my husband and 3 children. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The house was extremely well equipped, vey comfortable, clean and tidy and the hot tub was a big hit with my two older kids, as was the pool table in the garage. Highly recommend this cottage! We loved everything about it! The smell, the decoration, the vibes when you sitting on the sofa, and all the facilities it offers are more than enough! And Jill, the house host is so nice, made us feel really welcomed. We really enjoyed the 7 nights stay here!
