This wonderfully presented period cottage retaining many original features is an ideal base for a family or couples to relax and unwind in the heart of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.
Located in the village of Hailey towards the southern edge of the ancient Wychwood Forest, you benefit from having a pub under 0.25 miles. Witney is just 2 miles away and offers an array of shops, pubs, restaurants along with a weekly market. Just a few miles further there are yet more shops and eateries to explore in the bustling village of Bampton, which was the film set for Downton Abbey. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with footpaths and cycleways on the doorstep leading along open fields to picturesque Cotswold villages and historic coaching inns. Just 14 miles away is the beautiful university city of Oxford nicknamed ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ . It's not only great for a spot of retail therapy and a whole host of dining out options, but you can also stroll through the city and marvel at the beautiful architecture of this world-famous city.
On arrival, you can access the property via the garden gate, where you'll head through the garden to the back door. Upon entering, you arrive in the open-plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen is certainly a home away from home and gives the chef of the group everything they need to prepare a nice meal including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher. Once your meal or a light snack is prepared, there is seating for six people around the dining table. Heading through to the lounge, there's a comfortable three-seater sofa and two armchairs that surround the wood burner and bread oven, which bring warmth and character to the cottage. Fire up the wood burner, cosy up with loved ones and watch or stream your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Heading up the steep staircase to the first floor, there is a choice of two bedrooms. The first is a double room with bedside tables for personal storage and the master bedroom which has a king-size bed, a built-in wardrobe and a bedside table. Why not jump straight out of bed to revitalise in the en-suite shower room with WC. The main bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. The characterful yet steep staircase leads to the second floor which retains its original features including the low beams and sloping ceilings. This room has a double bed with a bedside table for personal storage.
Outside there is an enclosed lawn and patio garden area with ample seating, so why not prepare some cocktails and some food and enjoy al fresco dining while the sun goes down. You have convenient access to the two dedicated off-road parking spaces, one behind the other, on the right-hand side of the carport. This is accessible via the side avenue.
