This beautifully presented two-bedroom cottage with country charm enjoys a quiet spot at the edge of the North York Moors National Park with easy access to the Yorkshire coast.

Brompton-by-Sawdon is a picturesque country village situated between Scarborough and Pickering on the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park - an Area Of Outstanding Countryside. This wonderfully scenic location, with its stone-built cottages, village butchers and grocers, country pubs and a wine bar is ideal for kicking back in first gear, or alternatively going out and discovering the countryside, as the surrounding area is somewhat of a walker’s heaven. You may wish to enjoy the nearby Wykeham Lakes (3 miles) and visit the traditional tea rooms for some light refreshment or a pick-me-up! A little further afield the historic market town of Malton (15 miles) offers quaint shopping streets, whilst the famous family beaches and seaside attractions of Scarborough (8.5 miles), Whitby (27 miles) with its atmospheric ruined abbey, Castle Howard (22 miles) house and gardens, and the family-friendly theme park Flamingo World (13.5 miles) are within easy reach.

The front door of this property opens into a porch, which is a handy place for leaving coats and boots before moving through to the main accommodation and collecting your welcome pack. Nip into the separate WC just off here if needed. Head down the hallway and into the open-plan living/dining room and kitchen. With the dual aspect windows providing lots of natural light and furnished with all your homely comforts, you'll find this the perfect base to relax before setting off and exploring. The kitchen area includes all your essentials to rustle up a hearty meal with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge and dishwasher. Take your meal over to the dining table which comfortably seats four. Come together for after-dinner games at the table or discuss your next adventure. There is a handy utility room with a washing machine and an additional fridge/freezer and microwave. After dinner relax on the comfy sofa with your four-legged friend and watch a movie on the Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a sunroom that opens to the patio, pour yourself a nice cup of tea and sit in the warmth of this cosy little room. When it's time to turn in, head up the stairs to the first floor, where two bedrooms await. The larger bedroom offers a sumptuous super-king-size bed and built-in wardrobes so you can unpack all your necessitites. The second bedroom is a bunk room, ideal for children. After a long day, enjoy a nice warm soak in the bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Step outside to the walled courtyard, a sun trap in the early afternoon! Take a dip in the hot tub and soothe your tired muscles after all the walking. There is a handy storage outhouse which is perfect to securely storing bikes. There is on-street parking directly outside the property.

A lovely cottage in a great location. A good base for exploring the coast and the North York Moors and some lovely walks around the village. A lovely main bedroom with a comfortable and very big bed. Outdoor area is not fantastic but then I didn't use the hot tub, which is an important feature of the house and takes up a lot of that space. The owneRead morers were very welcoming and the goody pack that they left was full of lovely things. Summary is a nice cottage but a bit overpriced to my mind. . Hide
