It was a novel experience living in a small space, not so cosy, until we could get the place warmed up. The peace, quiet and lovely countryside surrounding the area was a pleasure. Owner welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Very peaceful, pretty village location. Good off road parking. All basic necessities provided. Property kept clean. A cosy, relaxing, comfortable retreat. Hens very talkative and friendly. We absolutely agree with the owners' recommendation of the Battlesteads Hotel and Restaurant in Wark for as an evening meal venue or for a drink in the gardens.

The Byre is a beautifully converted property set in a gorgeous and peaceful rural village, with plenty of space inside and ample parking. A perfect base from which to explore Northumberland. The kitchen facilities are excellent considering the size and it wasn't any trouble to cook a couple of meals using the microwave/oven and hob. Kristen was reaRead morelly helpful and recommended a decent long walk to do round the countryside. We enjoyed seeing some local wildlife as well as the dark skies. Hide
