Set on the outskirts of Fort Augustus and within a couple of miles of Loch Ness, this property is ideally placed for exploring both the Highlands and the West Coast. Enjoy a boat trip or day cruise on the loch itself, and take a stroll along the Caledonian Canal with its many locks. The ruins of the historical Urquhart Castle in Drumnadrochit are also well worth a visit. The Great Glen Way runs from the north to the south of Loch Ness and is popular with cyclists and bikers alike. Fort William is just over thirty miles away, with Ben Nevis mountain range and the Jacobite Steam Train to name just two well-known attractions.

The bungalow entrance leads into a small utility area with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, which is convenient for leaving your muddy boots after a busy day of exploring. This leads through to a spacious kitchen with breakfast bar, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The lounge/diner is also large in size, with seating for six guests around the table. The sofas are placed around a cosy wood burner and TV/DVD, making it a lovely spot to spend your evenings. There are two sliding patio doors that lead out to the garden from this room, where you also have a great view of the bird feeders that attract lots of wildlife, including woodpeckers and red squirrels. Both bedrooms have use of a shower room and WC. The master double bedroom is spacious with an en-suite with bath, shower and WC. From this bedroom, glass doors lead out to the garden. Another double room and a twin complete the accommodation.

The enclosed garden is mainly laid to lawn and stretches to over half an acre. There are small patio areas with garden furniture where you can enjoy a seat in the sunshine whilst you dine alfresco. There is ample parking on the gravel driveway for three cars.

One of the most comfortable cottages we have stayed in in Scotland. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean thanks to Liz. Weather was fairly kind for October allowing us and our dog to enjoy the garden and the views. We highly recommend Pine Tops.

Lovely cottage in a great situation for exploring further north or Glencoe to the south. Far enough out of town to feel secluded but only 10 mins out of Fort Augustus. Would recommend.

Pine Tops is a lovely, well-appointed cottage in a quiet location but not too far from shops and eating places at Fort Augustus. Ideal for access to Loch Ness and Fort William.

Third year at Pine Tops. Love the cottage and location thats why we keep coming back! Also, have never been to such a well equipped kitchen for a holiday cottage and everything is clean and welcoming. The garden is big and surrounds the house. Our dog is also happy to come back!

We loved everything about this property. The location was really peaceful and ideal for exploring the area. The property was beautifully decorated and furnished, and spotlessly clean. Plenty of room to spread out. All the utensils and kitchen equipment one could ever need were well supplied. The garden is huge. Visiting birds including woodpecker, Read moreand a red squirrel were delightful. We had no difficulty in securing the gate and although we had no pets with us we felt it was safe and secure. Hide

Beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet. Garden was not fully enclosed as described - we were unable to close the front gate so our dog could not roam the garden without one of us always being there. Cottage was comfortable but some rooms a bit tired. Modern kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed

Lovely bungalow in an isolated location. There are a couple of houses closely, but there is a huge dog friendly garden for this property. We would definitely stay again.
