The traditional village of Eckington is situated on the Northwest side of Bredon Hill, an outcrop of the famous Cotswold hills, and is surrounded by the River Avon. Here you can leave the car behind as you are well served by foot, there is a well-stocked village store and two good pubs. You can embrace the outdoors with waymarked paths for both walking and cycling, follow the riverside walks from Strensham Lock or enjoy a day’s fishing on the River Avon, where canoes, kayaks and paddleboards can also be utilised. This area has a year-round events calendar: follow the Blossom Trail in springtime, the Asparagus Festival in the summer, and attend the Plum Festival in autumn. A paradise for walkers of all abilities and stamina (great for the kids) awaits as there is easy access to Bredon Hill, made famous by AE Houseman’s ‘A Shropshire Lad’, and also the Wychavon Way.
Situated within a peaceful country lane that offers access to the River Avon, step inside to the heart of country life with a modern twist. The barn welcomes you, a home from home with a cosy atmosphere and warm interior. The kitchen/diner is both spacious and well-furnished with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Family mealtimes and entertaining are encouraged on the large table and chairs for four. There is a utility room with WC and washing machine, great for cleaning off muddy pasw and shoes! For relaxing, fall into the spacious lounge where comfortable sofas allow you to kick off your shoes, sink back, and enjoy a good film on the TV or get together with one of the provided board games. And when the day is done you can climb the stairs onto the landing where you will find two perfectly sized bedrooms: a spacious king-size with exposed wooden beams and a generous twin room. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside you can enjoy the views across the countryside in the private, self contained garden, the barn enjoys an enticing open courtyard area where you can enjoy entertaining with friends or cook alfresco with the family. There is a table and chairs with an umbrella for summer dining, along with a charcoal BBQ. For keen cyclists, there is secure storage for bikes and canoes. There is off-road parking for two cars.
