Welcome to an elegant rural property surrounded by rolling countryside and beautiful villages. There are nearby farm shops, where you can pick up a wealth of fresh, locally sourced produce for your breakfast, lunch, or evening meals. There is also a choice of country inns serving excellent menus of local produce. Enjoy a trip to Barnard Castle where attractions await, including the castle. Visit the Bowes Museum, a magnificent building and home to an eclectic collection of art, relics, and antiques, perfect for a rainy day! A trip to Richmond is perfect for riverside walks along the River Swale, stopping to admire the River Swale Waterfalls and finishing in The Station which has been restored to include a three-screen cinema, micro-brewery and bar, ice cream parlour, artisan bakery and a cafe.

This charming single-storey stone cottage rests within the family estate. The cottage is approached via a private front garden and beautiful ornamental trees. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms this beautiful property is ideal for groups of friends or families seeking a spot of blissful isolation without compromising on stylish accommodation. Stepping into the kitchen/diner, you’ll discover high ceilings and contemporary brass light fittings. There is everything you need to cook up a storm including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a large round dining table for your evening meals. Keep the chef company and perch on a stool at the breakfast bar. There is a conservatory off the kitchen with comfy seating, an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee whilst watching the views of the garden and fields beyond. After your dinner, make your way into the snug lounge with a wood burner, stoke up the fire and settle down for a cosy night in talking over your favourite moments of the holiday so far. When it's time to rest, there are two beautifully furnished bedrooms. Size matters when it comes to beds and these do not disappoint. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room and WC, while the other bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made into a twin on request) with an en-suite bathroom, with bath, separate shower and WC. The well-considered accommodation features a handy utility room with a washer/dryer and a place to de-boot and hang wet coats.

Outside, consideration extends to your dogs with an outdoor shower for you and your muddy canine companion. On balmy evenings, relax in the peaceful surroundings or sink into the private wood-fired hot tub to ease your sore muscles. There are walks available within and around the estate and a footpath that takes you through a magical woodland down to a lake. Throw down a blanket and enjoy a picnic. Parking is provided for two cars.

Perfect Holiday with the dogs. Its a beautiful cottage in a fabulous location the breakfast hamper was a lovely touch. Plum Tree cottage is an Ideal place for exploring The Moors, The Pennines and The Dales, we will definitely be coming back in 2025...

A pretty estate that is quiet and great for the dogs. House is comfortable and cozy, especially in the evening. It's a 25 min pleasant walk to the local pub. Take a torch as it is dark at night.

Beautiful cottage, very clean and provides pretty much everything you need. A quiet spot and ideal for walkers. Beds are very comfortable.

A perfect place to stay if you want peace, quiet and somewhere you can walk and enjoy the beautiful countryside. The cottage is absolutely beautiful! Its comfortable, perfectly clean & has everything youd need & more for an amazing stay. It was so cosy sitting on an evening with a lit fire in the hearth & the hot tub was great!. You can watch House Martins flying above & feeding on the wing. Beautiful location, comfortable cottage. Peace and quiet good base for the dales and the moors. Owners very helpful. We loved it and would definitely consider going back again.

Lovely luxury dog friendly self catering cottage in the countryside with beautiful surroundings with everything you need for any break or occasion. Jo the estate manager met us warmly at the cottage on arrival and was very informative on the surrounding area and places of interest

Very nice bungalow situated in a tranquil location but close enough to the towns such as Richmond, Darlington and the East Cost. Excellent facilities including a lovely welcome pack (food, prosecco etc), towels, robes, logs for the fire and hot tub. Out family including you young children had a lovely week.

The accommation was in a lovely setting. The dog outside hot shower facility was fantasict. We didn't use the hot tub or the log burner, but the facility was there is required.

Fantastic cottage in a great location. Everything you need is supplied at the cottage and if you need anything Jo is always on hand to assist. The conservatory at the rear of the property is a great chill out area especially if the weather is not great. The hot tub is great once up to temperature, just fire it up a couple of hours before use and keRead moreep feeding with logs for a lovely 40 degrees soak. Fabulous cottage in glorious surroundings made even better because it was in easy reach of the town. Richmond is a quaint and interesting town with some lovely independent shops that we enjoyed exploring. Only stayed for a weekend but the cottage catered to our every need, and we were so comfortable we didn't want to leave at the end of our visit. Beautiful clean and well appointed. Really enjoyed the conservatory for morning coffee. Estate was lovely to walk around - altogether a relaxing mini break. Great welcome basket, which started our break off in just the right way.
