This delightful pet-friendly property is the ideal base for a couple to visit and explore the very best of Cambridgeshire, with plenty to see and do within easy reach.

The cottage is located in the quaint village of Barrington, which has a shop and a lovely pub on the green. There is a train station in Shepreth, just 1 mile away, with direct links into central Cambridge and London, so you are ideally placed to enjoy the very best of Cambridgeshire and beyond. The National Trust’s Wimpole Hall is within easy reach, as is the beautiful Audley End House which hosts shows and open-air concerts throughout the year. There is a local wildlife park featuring exotic animals including tigers which is a mile away, and for the history lovers among you, head to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford which has regular air displays throughout the year and is where you can see the Lancaster, Spitfire, Vulcan, and Concorde planes up close (7 miles).

You enter this charming and cosy property via the front door which leads you through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a comfortable two-seater sofa and armchair which face the Smart TV. There is also a dining table with two chairs which is ideal for breakfast, lunch, or an evening meal together should you wish to dine in. The kitchen area has everything the foodies among you need to prepare a meal, with its electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The king-size bedroom leads off from the lounge with plenty of storage for your personal items and the shower room with WC leads off from the bedroom.

Outside and to the front of the property, you have a table and two chairs and there is also an enclosed shared seating area with a table and chairs - if you do have a dog this is the perfect spot for them to stretch their legs. There are further shared areas around the owner’s grounds with furniture provided, and by prior arrangement with the owner, there is a pizza oven that guests are more than welcome to use to cook up some fresh stone-baked pizza. There is a shared social area with a TV, sofas, and a small gym which includes a treadmill, cross trainer, exercise bike, and some resistance equipment. The outdoor swimming pool is shared and is accessible for guests by prior arrangement direct with the owner as to time slots and availability. There is private off-road parking for up to two vehicles.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a great time staying in the Victor stable. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, we had all the amenities we could want, and everything was clean and tidy and in good condition. The location is convenient for Cambridge and walks around the local countryside. There are lots of thoughtful touches and modern features.
