Within 350 metres of Rosslyn Chapel, one of Scotland's most remarkable buildings, this charming property enjoys a convenient village location. Rosslyn Chapel was made even more famous by Dan Brown's worldwide bestseller “The Da Vinci Code” and subsequent film. The beautiful Glen Country Park, also the home of Wallace’s Cave, Rosslyn Castle and Gun Powder Mills, is less than a mile away - a lovely spot for a riverside walk. Roslin also boasts renowned eateries and friendly local pubs to enjoy. Nestled in the shadows of the Pentland Hills, it is the ideal destination for walkers, hikers and mountain bikers. Golfers can enjoy an array of local courses close at hand and fishing is available on the North Esk. Or visit Hillend (4 miles), where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding and tubing.

Step inside this stylish period cottage from the pretty front garden into the hall, the perfect place to store your coats and boots. Head on through to the bright open-plan living area. The lounge, with beautiful, exposed stone walls and attractive fireplace, invites you to enjoy cosy nights in with the roaring gas fire and a film on the Smart TV after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is also a comfortable dining area for family gatherings or romantic meals. The well-equipped kitchen is the ideal place to cook up a storm with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The utility room offers ample storage space and a washing machine. Continuing through to the rear hall, you'll find a stylish shower room with WC, and direct access from the hall into the garden. Completing the ground floor is a beautiful twin bedroom which can be made into a super-king-size on request, with TV and French doors leading out to the rear garden. Heading up the stairs, you are met with the delightful king-size bedroom with lovely, exposed stone walls, sloping ceilings, ample storage space and TV. Finally, completing this wonderful property is the stylish bathroom with handheld shower over the bath and WC.

Venturing outside, you'll find a mature shared rear garden with private seating area and charcoal BBQ. It's the perfect spot to enjoy al fresco dining and lazy evening stargazing, perhaps with a nice local ale, a good glass of wine or a wee dram. There is also a bench to enjoy a morning coffee in the pretty front garden.

The cottage was perfectly situated for our visit to Roslyn Chapel and also a day trip into Edinburgh. Beautifully decorated, with some nice details retained from the original cottage, warm, quiet and with everything we needed. Very close to local amenities. So enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Cosy cottage in a lovely location - do visit Rosslyn Chapel! Lovely decor, warm, comfy beds. Disappointing though that no information was provided about the cottages facilities (eg. TV, recycling, return of keys) & that no bin bags or toilet paper were provided.

Lovely cosy cottage. Loved the kitchen, lounge set up and the bedrooms on differnet floors worked really well for us each with own bathroom facilities. Great location. Would benefit from a welcome book with information on bins/recycling and what's in the area, bus times to Edinburgh etc. Overall a Love retreat for 5 days.

Location and the standard of this cottage is very good - perfect location for Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Beds and bedrooms are top quality - only reason for not giving 10/10 is the cooking utensils plus plates/cutlery are dated.
