Set deep in the rich countryside and offering a rugged landscape within the Brecon Beacons National Park this detached farmhouse with spacious accommodation is just perfect for family and friends.

Set deep in the countryside just a short distance from the peaceful hamlet of Merthyr Cynog in Powys, where there’s an ancient Norman church with connections to St Cynog dating back to 500 AD. This area is a haven for enthusiastic walkers so leave the car behind and follow the many waymarked footpaths. You are well placed to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and try your hand at one of the various water sports available such as kayaking on the River Wye, paddleboarding on Llangorse Lake (18 miles) or pony trekking within the foothills. The traditional market towns of Brecon (12 miles) and Builth Wells (10 miles) are also within easy reach, with Builth Wells being home to the Royal Welsh Show and many other seasonal events. Set within its own grounds and approached from a small lane, this stone farmhouse is in a great rural location for catching up with friends and family away from the stresses of everyday life.

Step inside the generously sized entrance hall where there is space for coats and boots. From here you can access the main lounge where you can relax in front of the oil-fired stove set within the inglenook fireplace after a day of exploring. From the lounge, you have access to the kitchen which is well equipped with oil fired Rayburn, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. There is access to a dining room where you can enjoy entertaining around the table which accommodates eight. There is also access to a utility room that offers a further fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and a ground floor WC. There is also a sun lounge/games room with a pool table where you can relax and enjoy the views. So, when the day is done, climb the stairs to the first floor where a mezzanine landing awaits and you can sit and enjoy a chapter of a good book. There are three bedrooms all accessed from this landing: a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, a further double room, and one twin room. There is a bathroom with a handheld shower over the bath and WC. From a separate staircase accessed through the sun lounge there is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite double walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, the gardens are enclosed and there is a terrace accessible from the sun lounge with a table and chairs, along with a further seating area to the front of the farmhouse. Guests are free to roam the gardens. There is ample off-road parking and storage for bikes. Please note this property has a private water supply.

Fantastic place, loved the quiet location with no overlooking properties. Beautiful house, very well equipped, incredible night sky, would suit stargazers too! This is the real deal getaway from it all yet only approx 20mins from Brecon.
