Prepare to discover the wonders and delights of the Lake District National Park, boasting excitement and adventure for guests of all ages. Be sure to pack your walking boots and explore this invigorating area on foot, embarking on hikes up Lakeland fells including Scafell Pike and Great Gable (both 5 miles). Head inside and soak up the home-from-home nature of this lovingly presented cottage. Enter first into the open-plan kitchen and dining area with space for four to sit down together. High ceilings and skylights ensure this room is flooded with light and full use of the oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher ensures everyone is fed and watered. You’ll also find a small welcome pack with tea, coffee and cleaning essentials ready and waiting for you on arrival. Step into the cosy lounge space with its cushy sofas and Smart TV, which is linked to the internet to ensure your viewing is not interrupted by the remote location of the cottage. All freeview channels or log into your TV accounts, so you can enjoy a great night in, watching all your favourite shows. From here, stairs lead down to the ground floor with two bedrooms. Both of these are presented with original beams and antique wooden furniture. The first bedroom is a cosy double and the second is a bunk bedroom that’s perfectly suited to two. Finally, find a spacious family bathroom on this floor with WC and shower.

Step outside to soak up the wonderful landscapes from your private garden. Furnished with a table and chairs for al fresco dining, this pretty lawn space truly completes the property. Bank Barn was a beautiful and idyllic place to stay with its peaceful location and stunning views. We were able to self cater and enjoyed cooking meals in its very well equipped kitchen that had everything we needed and more. We and our 2 Labradors loved the company of Flo and the goats.

Bank Barn is a lovely little, cosy cottage that sits up on the side of the valley on a small working farm in Wasdale. The Privacy is top notch. Secluded from outside world. Beautiful location within the valley. The cottage is on a farm in a fantastic location near Wastwater and a short drive to some of the regions recommended walks. It is well equipped and self contained so your privacy is assured. Had a wonderful week long stay with my husband and dog. Margie and Adrian were very welcoming but also gave us the space to relax and enjoy. Friendly goats and Chickens running free. Really nice little place, Margie and Adrian made us feel very welcome, as did the goats, chickens and sheepdog Flo. Amazing location with easy access to some great walking and cycling routes, and great views. Comfortable for two with decent kitchen for preparing simple meals. Nice bathroom with really good shower.

A really lovely spot for a quiet Lakes holiday at a good price, with chickens and goats to keep you company. Views across the lower end of Wasdale are gorgeous; walks up the fell from the cottage and down to the lake are all good. Local pub food at Bridge Inn excellent, and Gosforth shops have all you need for self catering.

This was a wonderful place to spend a week in August - it was so quiet that it didn't feel like summer holidays in the Lake District. The accommodation was comfortable and full of character, and our hosts were so helpful and friendly. Our children loved being able to explore the garden, feed the goats and play with the sheepdog. The track up to the farm from the main road is very steep to walk up.The views are very good and it was nice to watch the goats and chickens.

This was such a lovely place to stay and in a wonderful location, tucked away on the edge of pretty woodland. with beautiful views. The owners are very friendly and kindly decorated the property for Christmas, in addition to leaving a few edible treats for us which was really appreciated. Will definitely recommend and am sure to stay again!
