This bijou-style property is the ideal couple’s retreat for keen walkers, enjoying a stunning rural setting within the grounds of a traditional Lake District farm.

Troutbeck and its surroundings are a walker’s paradise thanks to the rugged fells of Ullswater and excellent country road links to Keswick 9.5 miles away, where you can visit the museum, browse the independent shops and enjoy a concert at the popular theatre. Adrenaline seekers will be tempted to scale Helvellyn 12.5 miles away, but the peaceful shores of Ullswater are a delight to explore with pockets of ancient forest and pretty waterfalls including Aira Force 5.5 miles away. Hop on board a traditional steamer and take to the water to experience the scenery from a new perspective, or charter a boat or kayak and make your own adventure. Your accommodation offers a cosy base for couples after a busy day, so pour a glass of wine and venture outside to soak up the views over the Ullswater Valley.

This property is superb and the breakfast pack was a nice gesture.the owners did little things to make the cottage have a festive feel.will visit here again in the future
