Make the 10-mile trip to Whinlatter Forest Park where a plethora of mountain bike trails await. You can also entertain adrenaline seekers here with a trip to Go Ape!. On the way home, stop off in Keswick (6 miles) for a bite to eat or spend the day here and visit the attractions, which include a pair of museums, before boarding a boat to cruise across Derwentwater. A 4.5-mile walk from your door, Dodd Fell is a gentle climb rewarded with panoramic views reaching far and wide. Treat yourself with a meal at the pub here and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife on the way up. Bassenthwaite village is 1.5 miles away and has a lovely pub that welcomes children and dogs.
Head inside this welcoming home and enjoy spending time relaxing in lounge with inviting sofas and chairs, and a Smart TV, find plenty to keep you entertained on nights in, and stay warm beside the wood burner. If you fancy somewhere quiet to sit and read a book, make your way to the sun room, which shares its space with the kitchen/diner. Enjoy the long, verdant views and make use of the telescope on clear nights in the play room, which doubles up as a children’s room with beanbags, and a wall-mounted TV . It boasts fantastic views to Bassenthwaite, too. The cottage-style kitchen is equipped with five-ring gas hob, built-in double range oven, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge with freezer compartment. Serve up at the breakfast bar, which doubles up as a kitchen island, and enjoy eating together and admiring the views. If you need to dry clothes throughout your stay, utilise the clothes airer, iron and ironing board, which can be found in the laundry room. There is a useful WC on the ground floor as well as a games room with table tennis. Climb the stairs to the first floor, where there’s a super-king-size bedroom with gorgeous views and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. There are two more king-size bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms – one with shower only, one with separate shower and bath. The final bedroom has twin beds. A family bathroom with shower completes the first floor.
Spend time in the great outdoors and enjoy a tipple on the deck, which has comfortable outdoor furniture. There is more room to sit outside to the front of the home, and lovely communal gardens. The garden is unenclosed so take care with little ones and dogs. There is parking for up to four cars under the archway just before the property.
