The market town of Keswick is a popular spot for visitors to the Lake District. It has a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and bars, and also boasts a number of tourist attractions such as museums, climbing walls and crazy golf courses. Travel less than 1 mile down the road and find yourself on the shores of Derwentwater. There’s much to do here, including sunbathing on the beach, taking a walk around the lake or hiring a rowing boat. The Keswick Launch also runs cruises around the lake that offers a hop-on/hop-off service at various popular spots. Walkers will be spoiled for choice, with England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, 8 miles away, Skiddaw 5 miles and Blencathra 6 miles.
This charming, Victorian cottage is tucked away in a quiet part of Keswick and is comfortably furnished throughout. Take a seat in the living room, pop on the flame-effect fire and enjoy a cosy evening watching a film on the TV. Through to the dining room, there is a second TV and a fantastic warming open fire. There is also a dining table and chairs for you and your guests to have a meal and plan your days together. The kitchen has the usual amenities including a gas cooker, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There’s also a washer/dryer should you need to do some laundry while you’re away. A shower room with WC completes the downstairs. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, all of which are well furnished, comfortable and bright.
Head through the kitchen door into a pretty garden. It is an enclosed space, with a low stone wall with mature shrubs and pretty flowers on the borders. A patio with outdoor garden furniture is ideal for al fresco dining. There is also a lockable shed for the storage of bikes.
