Characterful cottage with a contemporary style, perfect for your next getaway with friends in the Lake District National Park with many fells close by.

Offering the perfect base for outdoor adventurers, the pretty village of Seatoller promises to tick a variety of boxes for Lake District visitors. Dale Head, High Stile, Pillar, Great Gable and even the mighty Scafell Pike can all be accessed within 10 miles of the property, ideal for those eager to explore the area on foot. You can also enjoy close proximity to the vast Derwentwater Lake (4.5 miles) for boat trips, water sports and relaxing waterfront walks. The nearby town of Keswick (7.5 miles) is filled with tourist attractions including museums and independent shops, as well as being the Adventure Capital of the Lakes with a local adventure centre on-hand to facilitate a variety of adrenaline-seeking activities.

Head inside to first find a cloakroom space for kicking off walking boots and muddy outerwear. A few steps down leads to the kitchen/diner, an impressive room that is flooded with light thanks to the stylish converted barn doors. This feature element also gives way to the incredible view, a delightful addition to any dinner time. A modern kitchen features all you might need to prepare everybody’s meals with a fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher on-hand. Finally, this room benefits from a TV for catching up on the day’s happenings whilst preparing food or dining. Continue further into the ground floor to find the first of three bedrooms and a family bathroom with WC, shower over bath, heated towel rail and Jack-and-Jill doors making the bathroom an optional en-suite. The bedroom itself is a luxurious space with a king-size bed and Smart TV. Finally, this room gives way to a ground floor utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and large sink. Head on upstairs to explore the first floor. First, you’ll find a charming lounge with a countryside aesthetic and views across to Bessy Boot and Thorneythwaite fells. Original beams and a high vaulted ceiling lend the room plenty of character, whilst the Smart TV and Bluetooth speaker offers plenty in the way of entertainment. From here the property continues to two further bedrooms. The first of these is a snug twin with light flooding in, whilst the second is a further king-size with delightful views of nearby barns. Completing the property is a family bathroom with WC, large shower and heated towel rail.

Outside the property is an off-road parking space for two cars. And, whilst the accommodation doesn’t offer a private outdoor space, it’s close proximity to all of the Lake District’s outdoor offerings ensures you’re never short of fresh air throughout your visit.

We just love the location of this cottage, nestled at the end of Borrowdale. It is fantastic for walking straight from the house. Even during bad weather there's a great view of the mountains from the cottage. The bus services into Keswick and up to Buttermere are very useful.

As two families with two 5 year olds we had a super week exploring the northern lakes from the Barn. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well stocked and the location gave us the perfect sense of being away from the busy-ness of the popular towns, but with so many local walks on our doorstep.

Our first trip to the Lakes and definitely not our last! The Barn is a great location and the views are fabulous. We have provided some improvements feedback to the owners privately but in all, a good family property.
