Offering a fabulous variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops, the town is also home to popular attractions including the Puzzling Place, Keswick Climbing Wall, the Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Adventure Centre and the Theatre by the Lake. The town is known as the Adventure Capital of England, and popular activities include water sports, climbing, walking and boating. Several other lakes are within easy reach including Bassenthwaite Lake (5 miles), Crummock Water (10.5 miles), Buttermere (10 miles), Thirlmere (5 miles) and Ullswater (14 miles). To the north are the fells of Blencathra (7 miles) and Skiddaw (5 miles), with Grisedale Pike to the west (5.5 miles).
The hallway from the front door leads you through to the light and tastefully furnished lounge. This is a lovely room to relax in at the end of a great day exploring the Lake District, with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV and DVD and a selection of books. Exploring the cottage further, the kitchen/diner is perfect for enjoying a family meal together and is fully equipped with a dining table, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and an under-counter fridge with ice compartment. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers two delightful bedrooms – a twin room and a king-size room. There’s also a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.
Outside the kitchen, there’s a small, shared patio area, providing a charming spot for a morning coffee – some foldaway chairs are provided. You will have a parking space for one car behind the cottage; this is accessed via St Herbert Street. There’s also roadside parking in the streets around the property.
