Nether Wasdale is a wonderfully unspoilt valley whose marvellous scenery is ideal for walkers, cyclists and swimmers. Try your hand at rock climbing, ghyll scrambling, paddleboarding and kayaking with Westlakes Adventure (8 miles) or tackle Scafell Pike, Scafell and Great Gable – all stunning walks from the valley floor. Make a leisurely 7-mile journey through beautiful scenery to the coast on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, and stretch your legs along Drigg Beach, 7.5 miles away and perfect for picnics and a dip in the sea. History enthusiasts will love Muncaster Castle, 9 miles away, and with five pubs in the valley offering excellent home-cooked food with an emphasis on local produce, after a busy day, you can indulge in a hearty meal and pint of ale. For daily provisions, there is a well-stocked village store 3 miles away in the village of Gosforth.
Enter into the hall and store your coats and boots before heading through to the open-plan living and dining room. Bright and spacious, large windows give excellent views over the garden towards Wasdale screes. Large leather sofas are the perfect place to unwind after a busy day and watch the Sky TV. On clear nights, enjoy some stargazing with the telescope provided. The wooden dining table is the ideal spot for a hearty breakfast and to share a delicious dinner in the evenings. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, under-the-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment, dishwasher and plenty of storage space. There is a full-size fridge/freezer in a small pantry, and the washing machine and tumble dryer are tucked away under the stairs which lead to the lower ground floor. On this floor, there is also a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and an additional shower room. The games room will provide hours of entertainment for all ages, with Sky TV, a second TV, PlayStation 4, pool table, dartboard and a jigsaw table. There is also a high sleeper bed suitable only for children. Heading up to the upper ground floor, find the four remaining bedrooms: one king-size, one double, one single, and a further family bedroom which has a double bed an additional single bed. With all of the bedrooms having TVs all connected to Sky, and three having built-in DVD players, a little privacy is assured should you need it. Completing the accommodation is the family bathroom which has a bath and a separate walk-in shower.
Outside, the extensive gardens have several sections to them, providing a varied and exciting outdoor space. The garden furniture allows for al fresco dining morning, noon and night whilst the lower lawn is a great place to play football, and little ones will love the secret bamboo garden. Watching the sun go down from the hot tub is a daily event not to be missed. There is also off-road parking.
