Return to this light and spacious home from home after a day exploring fantastic fells, stunning scenery and gentle walks along Lake Windermere’s shoreline.

Windermere is right at the heart of the Lake District and has incredible scenery, excellent walking opportunities and a wealth of things to do to suit everyone. With its independent shops, stylish bars and many different eateries, it is a vibrant and bustling village. The neighbouring village of Bowness has a cinema, museums and even more shops and eateries, and you can take a trip on the steamer around Windermere Lake and hop on and off to explore. History enthusiasts will love visiting the stately homes nearby including Sizergh, Levens Hall and Holker Hall, all within 15 miles. Explore the magnificent Langdale Valley, 10 miles away, with its rugged mountains and peaceful tarns perfect for fell walking. 2.5 miles away, Brockhole provides a lovely day out with indoor and outdoor play, lakeside walks, treetop adventures and plenty of places to picnic.

Deceptively spacious, the clever use of light and space creates a bright and airy interior that has been tastefully furnished and decorated with local photography and art. Discard your coats and muddy boots in the hallway and head through to the living room. The bay window allows light to flood in during the day, yet becomes a cosy space when the coal-effect electric fire is lit. Two comfortable sofas are ideal for settling down with a good book or movie nights in. Gather everyone for sociable meals in the dining room, lighting the wood burner on chilly evenings. The efficiently designed kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, electric double oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer. There is a door to the back yard and parking area, and there is a downstairs WC. Upstairs, the double and twin bedrooms are spacious and light, each with a wardrobe, dresser and a large sash window.  The skylight in the family bathroom creates a bright room, and there is a shower over the D-shaped bath.

Outside, the rear yard is accessed from the kitchen and there is a bench to enjoy the morning sunshine with a coffee. At the front, there is another bench ideal for watching the world go by with a glass of wine. With plenty of space to stretch little legs, Queen’s Park is 300 metres up the road and has tennis courts, a football pitch, a children's playground and a skate park. There is off-road parking for one car and on-road parking for one car (permit provided).

We had a great stay with our two young children and would welcome the opportunity to stay again in the future. The property is perfect for a small family and the location is great. Catered perfectly for our requirements. Would highly recommend.
