Home-from-home property in the tranquil village of Ireby, an ever-calming and relaxing place to unwind with your nearest and dearest - four-pawed friends included.

Known locally as the ‘Back of Skiddaw’, this beautiful part of England offers easy access to the imposing mountain of Skiddaw (8 miles) and its much-loved neighbour Blencathra (13 miles). Set off from your doorstep with walking boots or bikes in tow, discovering the nearby hill of Binsey just 3 miles away and offering far-reaching views across the Bassenthwaite Lake close by (7 miles). Those hoping to conserve their energy will no doubt be eager to explore the village of Ireby itself, a tranquil spot with a helping of welcoming local pubs, as well as venturing along to the nearby villages of Uldale (1.5 miles) and Caldbeck (6 miles).

Perched on the end of a rural street, this end terrace house assures peace and quiet throughout your stay. Step inside and first discover a handy utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, no doubt an essential for guests with dogs. Off this room, you’ll find a ground-floor WC with a shower. From the utility room step into the open-plan kitchen, a bright and cheerful space for preparing meals or enjoying a spot of breakfast. The kitchen has been fitted with a fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, as well as two ovens and hobs for feeding the masses. Also on the ground floor is the open-plan lounge-come-dining room. Boasting a large circular dining table for enjoying meals together and plenty of comfortable sofas, this room is the place to be as you unwind on an evening. Throw some logs on the wood burner and switch on the TV for undisturbed entertainment. When day turns to night, the first-floor beckons with three delightful bedrooms. All of which feature stylish decor, these bedrooms consist of a master king-size, spacious double and snug twin bedroom for all to rest. Completing the property is a modern family bathroom with WC, shower and luxury claw-foot bath for soaking ailing muscles.

To the rear of the property, you’ll find a generous garden that’s fully enclosed. Head out via French doors in the lounge and enjoy the patio and lawn space. This garden does have a right of access for neighbours so please be aware of that when letting dogs play outside. Ample street parking is available.

We had a small dog and would have liked the garden to be totally secluded, couldnt let her off a lead, location a bit out of the way, there is no shop in the village (nearest is about 7 miles away),and only one pub and the food was really not the best, very well equipped cottage, Comfortable, clean, nice beds, downstairs bathroom is a good thing,

We had a wonderful stay at Ashley House. It is a very comfortable cottage, with an enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog. Tastefully decorated with all the facilities you would expect. Ireby is a lovely peaceful village with a fantastic and friendly local pub. Keswick is around 12 miles away, a 20-minute drive.

The whole cottage needs a deep clean. The bath was caked in dirt underneath and in the legs(free standing). The bath itself was very comfortable. The shower tiles need some SIMPLE bleach left on them & scrubbed.. The bedrooms were clean enough. The double beds were very hard, but the single beds were very comfortable. The recycling bins were over fRead morelowing (the bin men are on strike). The owner could take it all to a recycling centre. With a deep clean this could be a fantastic cottage! Hide
