Broughton-in-Furness is a charming small market town with a choice of welcoming pubs, cafes and independent shops. There are some lovely walks throughout the region, with Duddon Mosses offering a range of flora and fauna to glimpse, including deer, lizards, owls and adders. Local places to visit include Silecroft Beach (8.5 miles), the Swinside Stone Circle (4 miles) and the fell of Black Combe (5.5 miles). Heading south along the beautiful Duddon Estuary and the Furness Peninsula, attractions include the South Lakes Safari Zoo (12 miles) and the bustling town of Barrow-in-Furness (16 miles). Travelling a little way inland, you can visit the lakes of Coniston Water (9.5 miles) and Windermere (14 miles), with opportunities for canoeing, paddleboarding and kayaking.
Entering this friendly cottage, the hallway features a traditional tiled floor with plenty of space for leaving coats and shoes. There is also a WC on the ground floor. The spacious lounge has been beautifully furnished and decorated to provide an ideal space to unwind in at the end of a great day. Retaining original features including exposed beams and a wood burner set on a slab of local slate, the lounge also has plenty of comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a selection of books and local information. Glass doors lead through to a lovely sunroom – a delightful space for breakfast. From the lounge, a door takes you into the extended part of the house where you will find the bright, airy and stylish kitchen/diner, which is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and fan oven with gas hob. The dining area provides an ideal space for you to share a favourite meal and chat about the day’s adventures. The corner staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find three light, airy and relaxing bedrooms. There are two cosy double rooms and a charming twin room, all tastefully decorated in light neutral tones, and featuring plenty of storage space. There’s also a family bathroom on the first floor, complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.
Stepping out from the sunroom into the cheerful garden, the patio is a perfect spot for a BBQ. A number of steps lead up to the raised lawn with mature trees and views across the fields and hillsides. Parking is available for one car off the street.
