Prior to our visit I was worrying about the beds comfort due to previous reviews, that was a waste of worry as there was no problems with the beds we a family of 6 had no issues at all. We absolutely liked the cottage, its interior was lovely and it was very nicely decorated. It was equipped with everything one could wish for. The road is actually quite busy/noisy and the matresses were not very comfortable.

The cottage was lovely I enjoyed all the original building, but I couldn't get any electricity on ground floor to heat it There were storms and we got absolutely soaking wet and we had no way to dry any of the clothing. The cottage was in a good area and it was an excellent backyard for dogs. Couldn't be more pleased. The beds, however, less somethRead moreing to be desired. Mattresses and pillows ridiculously thin. Our 2nd stay at lovely Sykehouse cottage. We have no complaints and unlike previous guests we had no problem with the beds. We found them comfortable and supportive. Road noise is no longer a problem as the windows have had secondary glazing. The kitchen is modern and the house is comfortable as a whole.

Would be 5 star all round but for the beds - thin mattresses on hard frames. Very uncomfortable sleeping - poor sleep throughout the week for us both. A fantastic cottage, great layout, excellent kitchen and kit and one of our favourite places. Let down by poor beds - which is why we cant recommend it to friends.
