The cottage enjoys a handy position in a quiet part of Keswick, within easy reach of many of the town’s popular attractions. This bustling market town has a fantastic variety of great pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops, or you could spend an evening watching a movie at the Art Deco cinema or catching a performance at the Theatre by the Lake on the shore of Derwentwater. Keswick is home to the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Climbing Wall and Outdoor Adventure Centre and the Puzzling Place. Just outside Keswick, the Castlerigg Stone Circle (1 mile) dates back 5,000 years. Other local attractions include Honister Slate Mine (9 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (8.5 miles).
Stepping into the property you will greeted by the porch which has a seat which is ideal for removing muddy boots before heading through to the main hall. The hall has a traditional Victorian tiled floor, stained glass door and a church pew, as well as plenty of space to hang your coats. The main lounge is a bright and relaxing room with large bay windows, comfortable seating, a coal effect gas fire and TV/Blu-Ray so you can snuggle up with a movie or a good book in the evening. Exploring further, the airy and attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has an additional lounge area with a warming wood burner and TV. The large dining area provides a great space for gathering together, chatting about the day and enjoying a hearty meal. The spacious kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, and is fully equipped with a electric oven and gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine and dryer can be found in the handy utility cupboard. Heading up to the first floor, there are views towards the fells from the landing window. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, beautiful bay windows, a feature fireplace, plenty of storage space and a TV/DVD. The twin room has zip-and-link beds and can be made up as a super-king-size room on prior request. This floor also features the family bathroom, complete with a shower over the bath, as well as an additional shower room with WC. Finally, going up to the second floor, there are two further bedrooms, both with plenty of storage space and a feature fireplace. The king-size room has views towards Latrigg (and a low sloping ceiling), and the twin room, which can be made up as a king-size on prior request, looks out over the rooftops to Skiddaw.
Stepping outside, there’s a raised path and rockery to the side of the house, while the peaceful back garden has a lawn, mature plants, a blossom tree and a charming summer house where you will find a choice of outdoor furniture for you to use.
