A delightful cottage for six, nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, also within easy reach of the Lake District, perfect for a family seeking a ground-floor bedroom and bathroom.

Head off on holiday to the hamlet of Mason Gill, once home to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, approximately 5.5 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. Welcoming six guests, and one canine companion, to stay in three bedrooms, it is ideal for anyone who enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. There are many caves to explore and walks of varying length through picturesque countryside, even attempt the peak of Ingleborough, 6 miles away. Follow the 5-mile Waterfalls Trail, from Ingleton, 3 miles from home, and see the White Scar and Ingleborough Caves, both a short drive away. Venture into the Cumbrian market town of Kirkby Lonsdale to potter in independent shops and dine out. Drive 15.5 miles to the edge of the Lake District, with its beautiful walks and outstanding scenery.

Step into this recently updated cottage, leaving footwear in the porch, and head on into the second lounge. Perfect for children or anyone needing to catch up on a little work, there’s a desk, stereo and extra TV with DVD player. Further on, find there is a downstairs bedroom, with a double bed and enchanting rural views. Close by, a shower room, with WC and handbasin, makes the arrangement ideal for anyone with limited mobility. There is also a utility room, with washing machine, tumble dryer and upright freezer, plus ample space for drying your damp dog and storing wellies and raincoats. The airy kitchen is superb for whipping up holiday fare, with its range-style oven, with five ceramic hobs, microwave, fridge, coffee machine and dishwasher. Carry your tasty dishes through to the open-plan lounge/diner, with its beamed ceiling and parquet floor, when ready and call everyone to the table. Afterwards, settle down in front of the Smart TV to enjoy a holiday movie together. Find your two remaining bedrooms upstairs. These include a king-size room and a double room. The main bathroom, with its freestanding bath, with handheld shower, WC and handbasin, is also at this level.

Spend sunny afternoons out in the west-facing enclosed rear garden with views to the Lakeland fells, or the more secluded south facing front garden. Please do be aware that the garden is not escape-proof! Enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake as you soak up the serenity, absorb the views and watch the children playing on the lawn. The cottage has parking for two cars and EV charging is available by prior arrangement with the owner.

This is a superbly equipped house in a great location for access to either the high fells around Ingleton, or the gentler landscape of Lonsdale.

The location is outstanding - watched beautiful sunsets in complete peace and quiet. If you want a peaceful spot look no further! The accommodation is generous and well equipped - could cook proper meals in the kitchen and enjoy a relaxing meal at the large dining table. Very comfortable sitting / dining room - fabulous views from other sitting rooRead morem but furniture not as comfortable! The parking is tight but manageable with the option of a more accessible space. Loved the location and quiet! Hide

We loved the house and the location. It was handy having an Asda express nearby in Ingleton and there are lots of things to do in the area. Highly recommend Ingleborough Cave (dogs allowed), Ingleton Waterfall Trail, Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar & Malham Cove. Settle is a lovely town and has lots of shops and pubs and restaurants.

Wonderfully equipped and comfy cottage in a peaceful but excellent location. The cottage was very welcoming, any niggles dealt with efficiently. Plenty of space for 6 people to be together or have space apart. Highly recommend!

The cottage is very spacious and was very comfortable. It was clean, well equipped and close to amenities in Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton. Some nice walks from the cottage as well as a short drive to lots more challenging and lovely trails.

We had a lovely time, a real home from home. There was a much appreciated welcome pack when we arrived. Made use of the EV charger which was very quick and convenient. Parking was a little tight as described but managed OK (Jaguar I-Pace).

This is a lovely property in a beautiful area. We found the cottage warm and comfortable with all the equipment we needed. There are fantastic walks to be done from the house and plenty of great places to visit within an easy drive. Having an EV charger was a real bonus as it took out the stress of finding working chargers while out and about. Not Read moreconvinced our dog wouldn't have found a way out of the garden given the chance, but then he is a bit of an escape artist! We will definitely come back Hide
