This delightful family retreat is located amongst the stunning landscape of the Borrowdale Valley, an iconic destination for walking and cycling across the varied landscape.
Discover some of Cumbria’s best natural beauty spots from the comfort of this cottage that sleeps five at the southern tip of the Borrowdale Valley. Tucked in the village of Seatoller, you’ll soon be exploring sweeping fells, rugged mountains and pockets of woodland before returning to soak up the ambience of a crackling open fire over a glass of wine. Test your limits scaling the dramatic heights of mountain peaks including Glaramara and Dale Head, both within 2.5 miles. If you prefer a gentler excursion, tranquil Derwentwater is a short 6.5 miles away. An 8-mile drive will bring you to Keswick, a historic market town with several shops, eateries and amusements including the Theatre by the Lake and a family-run cinema.
Enter the property via the entranceway, storing your coats on the hooks as you pass and kicking off your muddy boots. You’ll immediately spot the bathroom with its handy shower-over-the bath and WC and the kitchen to your left. A large sash window allows natural light to pour into the attractive kitchen/diner, creating a pleasant space to cook up a storm and make good use of the electric oven, hob, and microwave. There is also a washing machine, and the separate pantry area houses a fridge/freezer. Enjoy your meals around the table that has seating for five, then walk through to the lounge to relax on the sofa. The stone fireplace features an open fire, and there is a TV for catching up on your favourite shows or reading one of the books provided. A door reveals the stairs leading up to the first floor where you’ll discover the three bedrooms. First is a pretty single bedroom with a bed, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet, and next, there is a twin bedroom with two single beds, a chest of drawers and a washbasin. The spacious double bedroom has excellent views across the valley and is furnished with a bed, seating, washbasin and bedroom storage. All three bedrooms share a useful WC on the same floor, and there is also a small cupboard with hanging space for clothes.
Although there isn’t a dedicated outdoor space for the property, the immediate outside area forms a natural shared terrace with a trickling gill running past it. You’ll have sole use of a small lockable shed which houses a tumble dryer and a small storage area for bikes.
