This family-friendly property lies in the peaceful village of Little Clifton, surrounded by countryside. Head for the coast and discover the shingle beach and coastal town of Workington (4.5 miles) where you’ll find shops, cafes, theatres, cinema, and museums. Hop on two wheels and explore the 72-mile West Cumbria Cycle Network (4 miles) which takes in disused railway lines, coastal paths, and verdant countryside. Enjoy country drives with lake views as you discover Bassenthwaite (10 miles), Loweswater (12 miles), and Ennerdale Water (12 miles). Visit the market town of Keswick (18 miles), tee off at Cockermouth golf club (8 miles), or swing from the treetops in Whinlatter Forest Park (15 miles).

Head up the garden path and step inside this country-style cottage. Leave muddy boots in the seat chest by the front door, and hang coats in the cloakroom under the stairs before wandering to the open-plan dining and living room. Take a break after your long walk and sink into comfy seating by the warmth of the wood burner while you admire the original timber beams. Enjoy favourite programmes and films on the TV and DVD player, the thoughtful owners have even included a selection of DVDs to choose from. And let the coffee table inspire your adventures with its embedded ordnance survey map. Family meals are a breeze with the well-equipped kitchen featuring an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, and handy washing machine, along with views towards the courtyard garden. When sleepy heads nod, head upstairs to find a handsome king-size bedroom and a pretty twin bedroom, decorated in restful tones, plus a stylish and spacious family bathroom with a shower over the bath (set into an alcove), and WC.

Step out to the rear of the property where you’ll find a gravelled courtyard garden and seating by pretty summer flora, perfect on sunny afternoons. There’s also a secure shed for bike storage, along with access to the village playing field. On-road parking is available for one car, at the front of the house. Further on-road parking can be found on the road behind the terrace. There’s a pub and restaurant within a mile, and a shop nearby (1.5 miles).

A lovely cosy cottage that had everything we needed for a short stay while visiting family. It was easy to find and in a quiet location. The living room/dining room was surprisingly spacious. We will definitely stay here again.

Had a great few days. Really relaxing place to stay. No.pub in the village or shop which was a bit of a disappointment but didn't really affect our enjoyment as there are shops within a few miles that you can drive to. Fantastic that the owners have thought of just about everything. Books, board games, a fully equipped kitchen. Even things like dogRead more treats, tea and coffee, and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift! Would definitely come again. Thank you. Hide

The property is deceptively large, its much bigger inside than you expect from the photos, plenty of space for 4 guests. Well located with easy access to beaches and lakes. Well furnished and a true home from home.
