This stunning barn conversion boasts splendid views of the fells. There are endless walking opportunities from the front door, as well as nearby attractions including Muncaster Castle.

The stylish former farm building is set in a peaceful location on a working farm, nestled between the Eskdale Valley and the coastal village of Ravenglass. The Wasdale Valley is less than 10 miles away. Here in this dramatic wilderness, you’ll find Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, as well as the country’s deepest lake. Whatever your ability, you’ll find a walk to suit you. Take a day trip to the ancient village of Ravenglass (3.5 miles) to stroll along the sandy beach, ride on the heritage steam train or visit Muncaster Castle. The fortress dates to 1208 and is claimed to be one of the UK’s most haunted castles! There’s also a play area and maze for children to enjoy.

Steps to the rear of the property take you into the first-floor lounge/kitchen/diner. This spacious area is perfect for entertaining and is full of character, with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and quirky features. Relax on the plump leather sofas in front of the Smart TV, curl up with a book from the extensive collection or challenge your fellow guests to a board game. There’s also a dining table, so you can all enjoy mealtimes together. The oak kitchen features an electric oven, separate electric hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer and a handy dishwasher. You’ll also find a separate WC on this level. Completing the first floor is a double bedroom with a fabulous four-poster bed and an en-suite shower room with WC. Heading downstairs to the ground floor, discover a second double bedroom. The bed in this room is a bespoke bed that is 7' 3 long by 5' wide. It has been made out of wood that was grown and felled at Linbeck. This room has a large Smart TV, two external doors and an en-suite shower room with a low-entry shower and WC. In the stable outside the property is a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink – perfect for dealing with muddy walking gear.

The cottage is located on an 18-acre smallholding, with spectacular views in all directions. The peaceful garden has a large lawn, as well as a number of fabulous, rare rhododendrons. The garden is shared with the owners, as well as their hens, horses and pig. This is a great spot for wildlife-watching, with regular visitors including red squirrels, woodpeckers and great tits. There is off-road parking for two cars available in front of the main house.
