A welcoming, contemporary cottage for a family of four in the quaint village of Branthwaite, close to Loweswater, Buttermere and Crummock Water.

Eight miles from home is the bustling town of Cockermouth, which is filled with tasty eateries and shops, and is famously the birthplace of Wordsworth – visit his house and garden, now a National Trust site. Your nearest Lake is Loweswater, 5 miles away, where you can see red squirrels and enjoy an easy waterside wander. If you fancy a seaside stroll, head to Providence Bay Beach (7 miles) and enjoy a salty day on the coast. A 9-mile trip will take you into the Ennerdale Valley, where a network of wonderful tracks and trails await.

Head inside and find yourself in the bright lounge/diner. Choose from one of two comfortable sofas and settle down to relax. Switch on the Smart TV and fire up the wood burner-effect gas fire for a cosy night in. Pull out the dining table and enjoy meals together in this lovely space. The galley-style kitchen is narrow but well thought out, with lots of storage space, an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. At the bottom of the stairs, you’ll find the bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to one of two charming bedrooms: one double and one twin. Both have stripped wooden floors, neutral tones and a good amount of space.

Start your day with a coffee on the enclosed patio, accessed via a step up from the kitchen, or spend evenings around the firepit enjoying a BBQ. There is parking on the road.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
