Exuding style with large rooms throughout and gorgeous original features; an excellent base from which to explore and to come home to at the end of the days adventures.

Nestled in the pretty Eden Valley, this holiday home is surrounded by beautiful scenery. A network of paths and bridleways lead from your door so you can leave the car behind and head out to stretch your legs or take the dog for a walk. The village of Little Salkeld (4.5 miles) is a great place to begin a loop taking in Lacy’s Caves (7.6 miles from home) and Long Meg and Her Daughters (4.5 miles from home). The bustling town of Penrith (9 miles) is a top destination for retail therapy or a night away from the kitchen. Venture into the Lake District and board a traditional Ullswater Steamer 13 miles away at Ullswater for a family-friendly and dog-friendly trip out.

Step inside the grand hallway, an impressive entrance hall with exposed brickwork and floods of natural light, then climb the stairs to the first floor, where the open-plan kitchen/diner and large lounge can be found. Sit beneath the vaulted ceiling and choose from one of many sofas to relax on, while the wood burner keeps you cosy. The spacious kitchen/diner has an electric oven and induction hob, microwave and useful dishwasher, while the long table comfortably seats eight. Completing the first floor are two of four bedrooms and a handy utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and WC. There is a lovely king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring a bath and handheld shower. Next is an enormous king-size bedroom which boasts a vaulted ceiling, exposed stone wall and a stylish en-suite shower room. Head back down to the ground floor to find the remaining bedrooms. Both bedrooms on this floor are king-size rooms which can be made as twins on request at time of booking. The ground floor is also home to the family bathroom with free-standing bath, separate shower and WC.

Take a drink or a snack outside to the large, enclosed garden where there is plenty of space to relax, play or chase your tail. Furniture is provided from May through September, though may be provided earlier if the weather is warm. There is off-road parking for approximately three cars.

Lovely house in a stunning location. So peaceful and spacious. House has plenty of room for 8 people. It was perfect for all our family to gather for my sons wedding. Also had an impromptu 30th birthday celebration! Very happy.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting. Spacious and well equipped. Anne-Louise was quick to reply and kindly introduced herself after we'd arrived. Nice walled garden for the dogs to have a wander off leads whilst we enjoyed sitting outside. A trip to Dufton to walk up High Cup Nick is well worth it (search The Walking Englishman for information).
