Settle down to a comfortable stay at this inviting, three-bedroom country cottage, which sleeps six guests. Set in the village of Braithwaite, just 3 miles from the vibrant, market town of Keswick, it is an ideal base from which to explore the northern Lake District. Go hill walking in the fells; follow the Coledale Horseshoe walk, which takes in far-reaching mountain views, from home. Find Whinlatter Forest Park, with its footpaths, cycle trails and children’s play areas, just 2 miles from the cottage, and Derwentwater, where you can canoe, kayak and sail, less than 1.5 miles away. Plan a trip to the Lake District Wildlife Park, 7.5 miles away, and see Castlerigg Stone Circle, 4.5 miles away.
Step into the two-storey cottage to find yourselves in a sunroom into which you can unload your luggage and where you can pause to remove outdoor gear. Wander on through to the lounge to light the wood burner, settle on the sofas and perhaps switch on the TV, which comes with smart connection. Make your way into the kitchen whenever your party starts to think about meals. Find you have an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer in here. Prepare hearty dishes then serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room next door, where there is a second TV. Climb the stairs up to the first floor to find all the bedrooms and bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are doubles, one with an en-suite shower room, with handbasin and WC, while the third is a twin. The family bathroom has a shower above the bath, WC and handbasin.
Dine out in the quaint courtyard garden on warm days or relax on the bench in the larger outside space, where a car can also park.
