Glenridding’s fascinating mining history can be discovered in the local Tourist Information Centre, or you can hop on a steamer and admire the tranquil scenes of Ullswater or the Aira Force waterfall 3 miles away. Alternatively, you can hire a boat or canoe at Ullswater, or enjoy a relaxing cycle around the lake and stop for a picnic. Wander around Glenridding’s independent shops and treat the family to a meal out in a local pub.
