Enjoy a romantic getaway for two in charming Keswick with this stylish town-centre hidden bolthole in the heart of the picturesque Lake District National Park.

Right in the centre of Keswick, this cosy cottage for two is just steps from the town’s array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Also boasting a museum, cinema, theatre and climbing wall, there is no shortage of things to do on rainy afternoons in this thriving market town. In dry weather, however, there is no better place to be than beautiful Derwentwater. Stay on dry land to enjoy a lakeside picnic or hop on and off the regular launch service to discover the many fascinating sights including the waterfall at Lodore, Surprise View at Ashness Gate and Beatrix Potter’s walled garden at Lingholm. Beyond the lake lie miles of excellent walking and cycling opportunities, from Skiddaw and Catbells to Whinlatter Forest, all just 5 miles away.

This traditional Lakeland cottage has been tastefully modernised and updated in April 2022 to provide a spacious, open-plan and modern accommodation that’s ideal for romantic retreats. Prepare tasty meals for two in the kitchen area, while your companion enjoys a glass of wine at the breakfast bar. This compact yet cleverly designed space is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge and microwave together with all the essentials. After dinner, curl up on the sofa to relax and unwind in front of the Smart TV while the flame effect electric fire creates a cosy atmosphere. Upstairs, the double bedroom is spacious and inviting with calming neutral decor, a metal-framed bed, wall-mounted TV for lazy mornings and plenty of storage space for making yourselves at home. Also, on the first floor is a clean and bright tiled bathroom with a shower over the bath - perfect for soothing tired muscles after long walks.

There is on-street parking within a short walk of the cottage.

We enjoyed our stay, purely because the cottage was in the centre of Keswick. Although it was down a rather dingy back road. Ideal for two people and quite cosy on a cold night. However the bed needs replacing, never uncomfortable and so was the the little two seater sofa, which is not what you want after walking the hills all day.

Kitchen needs some TLC, updating & a good clean & it lacked some essential equipment. Sofa & the bed were very uncomfortable! Not having any off road parking meant you had to find somewhere down one of the little roads. However it was a great location for the lovely town with great shops & coffee houses.
