Patterdale is just a mile from the bustling village of Glenridding at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass and is a fantastic starting point for a range of great walks, with local destinations including St Sunday Crag, Dove Crag, Brothers Water and Lanty’s Tarn (all within 5 miles). The magnificent lake of Ullswater is less than a mile to the north, providing a fantastic destination for a lakeside picnic, boat hire or for taking a cruise on a steamer. Attractions close to Ullswater include the Aira Force Waterfall (4 miles), Place Fell (0.5 miles) and Dunmallard Hill (9 miles). Heading to the eastern edge of the Lake District you can visit Dalemain Mansion (11 miles) and Lowther Castle (14 miles).

Stepping into this bright and spacious cottage, the welcoming entrance hallway leads you through to the pretty lounge. An ideal space to unwind in, the lounge has comfortable seating, Smart TV and a wood burner, making this a wonderful room for snuggling up and enjoying a favourite movie. Exploring further, the ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in and is kitted out with a sociable central island unit, a double electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and dishwasher. There’s also a delightful ground-floor bedroom: a king-size room with its own wood burner. Finally, the ground floor has a separate WC. Please note that, due to the age of the property, there are a few internal steps in the ground floor. Two staircases lead up to the first floor: one in the main hallway and one from the kitchen which takes you up to the dining room. This spacious room has been attractively furnished with a large dining table and antique dresser, providing an ideal spot for you to all gather together and enjoy a hearty meal. There’s also a delightful snug with plenty of seating, a perfect space for getting away and enjoying a good book in peace. There are two first-floor bedrooms: the fresh and light twin room has plenty of storage space and a beautiful feature fireplace, and the bright, tastefully decorated super-king-size room offers a Four-poster bed, feature fireplace, plenty of storage space and an en-suite bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. The first floor also has a stylish shower room complete with shower cubicle and WC.

Heading outside, there’s a small, but charming patio area with outdoor furniture, perfect for a morning coffee as you plan the day. Roadside parking is available, and there’s also a handy pay-and-display car park a few metres from the cottage.

A beautiful house in the heart of Patterdale. Really lovely presentation, spotless and extremely well equipped. Would recommend highly. The cottage was very clean, pleasant and confortable. The location for walking was excellent, however the proximity of the pub opposite and the consequent noise in the evenings (especially Friday) spoilt our stay. I imagine if you are a deep sleeper this might not be too bothersome. Unfortunately, the gravel parking space just outside the lounge wiRead morendow is used as a hangout for pub users. Obviously, this is outside the owner's control and the property may be a good fit if not bothered by this. Hide

The house was exceptionally well presented and very comfortable. There was a great supply of glasses, crockery and cutlery. Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Our only issue was the noise as the cottage is right on the road and very close to the pub. We were disturbed by people smoking and chatting right outside our windows.
