Offering tasteful and stylish accommodation for four guests, this spacious apartment is set over the ground and lower ground floor of a magnificent Victorian property with stunning Lakeland views.

Set on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Millbeck, this delightful apartment is perfect for exploring the northern part of the Lake District National Park. The shores of both Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater are just a few miles away, while keen walkers can head up towards Skiddaw from the doorstep and Blencathra just a few miles away. The thriving town of Keswick (2.5 miles) has a great selection of pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cafes, as well as a range of attractions including Derwent Pencil Museum, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Puzzling Place and Theatre by the Lake. Other local attractions include the Lake District Wildlife Park (6 miles), Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum (6.5 miles) and the Lakes Distillery (6.5 miles).

Entering the apartment, the light-filled and impressive kitchen/diner occupies the house’s conservatory and provides a sociable area to gather in. The chic kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The characterful and welcoming lounge leads from the kitchen which is an ideal space to unwind at the end of a wonderful day. Featuring two original sash windows, beautiful marble fireplace and a warming wood burner, as well as plenty of seating, a smart TV and a choice of books, this is a perfect spot to sit back and chat about the day, or watch a favourite film. Large windows from both the lounge and kitchen offer a fantastic view over the gardens and towards the fells. Just outside the lounge is a ground-floor WC and then a flight of stairs leads down to the lower ground floor, where you will find two bright and relaxing bedrooms. The spacious first bedroom has a super-king-size bed beneath a stained glass window set in a feature stone wall. The room also has a dressing area, vintage furniture, plenty of storage space and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, WC and underfloor heating. The second bedroom is a cosy twin room and an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. Also on the lower ground floor is a utility room which houses a washing machine and sink. There are large shared gardens to explore, set over different levels and featuring a choice of seating areas, lawns and a pond. There’s designated parking for one car, with shared extra parking space also available.

My sister and I had an absolutely wonderful time for the weekend we stayed in this cottage. The character of the whole house is stunning and the views even more so. Everything this property promised it fulfilled and we will absolutely be returning again.

The apartment is a real gem. It is a cosy well equipped, most comfortable and very well proportioned accommodation for 4 people, with equally well tended and attractive gardens. The daffodils were beautiful and the views spectacular. We hope to return soon, if we can find a vacancy!
