Detached, stone-built cottage for four, set on a working farm with wonderful sea views, close to the beach and just a short drive to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Families and couples will love this.
This lovely stone cottage offers guests the opportunity to holiday on a working arable farm at the coast where you will see the occasional tractor, a few cows and horses in nearby fields, and general farming life, coupled with beautiful views across the fields to nearby Cocklawburn beach and beyond towards Holy Island and even Bamburgh Castle. Walk or drive to the sandy beach for a paddle and a picnic in the sand dunes. Cheswick and Goswick beaches are nearby too, and the golf course at Goswick offers panoramic coastline views. Drive to nearby Berwick for history, art, theatre, great shopping, pubs, and restaurants. Walk the Lowry Trail and the scenic town walls. Head to Paxton House, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, and Howick Hall.
Access to this neat, stone cottage is through the front door into an inner porch where you can leave your coats and walking boots. Head into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with wonderfully thick walls to find a cosy, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of comfortable seating where you can relax after your days out exploring. Snuggle up in front of the wood burner for a movie night on Smart TV or sit with a book and drift off. When it's time to eat, you have everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen with an electric hob and oven, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. There is also a small chest freezer in a cupboard off the hall. There is also a bathroom with a shower cubicle and WC on the ground floor and this houses a useful washer/dryer. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms; a king-size with open storage for your things and two single bedrooms, one with a chest of drawers and the other with a small wardrobe. The family bathroom has a bath and WC.
Outside, there is a gravelled area at the rear of the property and an enclosed, lawned garden at the front with garden furniture where you can sit with your morning coffee to watch the sunrise or dine alfresco and admire the sunsets. At night-time, sit out here to watch for shooting stars in the dark skies. There is private, off-road parking for two cars in the courtyard at the rear of the cottage.
