Nearby there are lovely walks through the fields, and a charming village pub serves delicious home-cooked meals. For those wanting to venture further afield, the market town of Tadcaster is nearby, as is the ancient walled city of York. Here you can browse the cobbled streets, indulge in a spot of retail therapy, or try one of the many acclaimed bars and eateries. The spa town of Harrogate, famous for its elegant architecture and Harlow Carr Gardens, is also within easy reach. For family days out, both Castle Howard and Harewood House are just a short drive away. Centrally located for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, the area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists alike.

 A grand entrance leads to the stunning drawing room with an abundance of character and a plethora of antique furniture. With a range of comfortable sofas and chairs, cosy up in front of the open fire, put your feet up and delight in your favourite tipple. Fantastic house! Beautifully laid out and perfect for big groups. Cosy sitting room with a roaring fire, very comfy beds, lovely clean house. Open plan kitchen/ dining room and lovely warm aga too! Great outdoor party shed. Stunning views. A fantastic weekend had by all!

Edward was a great host, replying quickly to our queries and able to recommend local caterers for a birthday meal during our stay. The house is well equipped and has plenty of space to entertain a large group staying. We were a group of 14 across 4 families and the dining room seated us easily, as well as the sitting room.
