The countryside retreat, in the picturesque village of Edenhall, is perfectly placed for exploring both the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines. You’ll also be within 27 miles of the Yorkshire Dales, making the cottage the ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. From gentle ambles along the River Eden, to exhilarating fell climbs, you’ll find something nearby to suit all abilities. Take a day trip to the pretty market town of Keswick (21 miles) to discover a wonderful selection of independent shops and eateries, as well as the majestic Derwentwater. Alternatively, take a scenic drive to Ullswater (12 miles) to experience a ride on the iconic steamers or take a magical waterside walk to the impressive Aira Force Waterfall.

The sleek cottage has been impeccably decorated, with crisp, clean lines and accents of colour to create a memorable backdrop for your holiday. Steps lead down to the light and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is the ideal place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Kick back and relax on the stylish sofa to watch the smart TV, warming your toes in front of the electric fire, which is housed in a gorgeous ornamental stone fireplace. Rustle up a tasty meal in the elegant kitchen, from produce collected on your travels. Here you’ll find an electric oven and hob, built-in microwave, fridge, and a handy dishwasher. Perch on the bar seats at the breakfast bar, with a glass of wine in hand, to chat about your day as the dinner cooks in the oven. Enjoy a little ‘me time’ in the cosy snug. This super stylish space, with feature wallpaper and a comfy sofa, is a lovely spot to curl up with a good book on a lazy afternoon. When it’s time for bed, retreat to the super-king-sized bedroom (can also be made up as a twin on request). Decorated in neutral tones, with little flashes of yellow, it’s a wonderfully calming space to enjoy a good night’s rest. You’ll also find another smart TV in here – perfect for lie-ins in bed, with a cuppa and your favourite programme in the background. Completing the property is the fabulous shower room, which has a light-up mirror, as well as a WC and heated towel rail.

Heading outside, dine alfresco on the garden furniture outside the property, before enjoying a sunset stroll around the beautiful, shared grounds. There is off-road parking available for one car, directly outside the property.

We could not have found a better" home " and I do mean home to stay in for our first break with our two cockapoo pups. We could have left everything at home as the facilities were fantastic. A fabulous place and one we will return to very shortly.

A wonderful return stay! The accommodation is as lovely as ever. Kathryn and Stewart have thought of everything, from cozy comforts for us to thoughtful touches for our dogs. Their warmth and hospitality made our tip even more special . Cant wait to come back again. Highly recommend to anyone and their Four-legged Friends seeking a gem in Cumbra!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edenhall Garden Cottages. The location was fantastic, close to the Lakes and North Pennines, but away from the really busy tourist centres and so was really peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need and finished to such a high standard. We would definitely return as it is well positioned, close enough to the motorway but in a lovely friendly village, great for walking and visiting the local towns and villages. We had a lovely relaxing break, very pleased with our choice.

A lovely group of cottages, we stayed in Garden Cottage. The cottage was immaculately clean, well set out and had everything you would need. Lovely village location with some lovely walks to enjoy. A must drive through the back roads to Appleby-on-Westmoreland and a visit to see the Appleby Almshouse, and the famous bridge where the Horse Fair centRead moreres on. This is a well appointed and comfortable cottage in a most beautiful setting in the Eden Valley. Handy for the Lake District and the Northern part of the Pennines. Our host, Kathryn, was most welcoming and nothing was to much trouble, we will definitely be back next year.

Couldnt recommend this as a place to stay more highly. Lovely cottage & lovely location too! Wonderful local walks & a great place to base yourself to explore the Lakes & the Borders. We will return.

Lovely cottage and very spacious, its was like a tardis. Bed so comfy, slept really well. Lovely and clean. Shower really powerful. Cottage was lovely, had everything we needed, cosy and modern. Location was perfect for us and our 3 dogs, lovely walks on the doorstep! The host even provided goodies and towels for the dogs such a nice touch. Really enjoyed our stay and planning to return!

The cottage was presented immaculately inside and out, recently renovated to a great standard! It was great for me and my dog who used it as a base to explore the north lakes over the new year break. Just wish the hotel was open across the way (it shut temporarily for Jan which is understandable) so the only other place to eat or drink out was a caRead morer drive away. The cottage was located in a lovely little village. It was spotless and cosy. Cant find fault with anything. The owners have thought of everything even down to the doggy welcome pack with bowels, towels, treats and toys. We would definitely recommend a stay.
