The cottage is nestled in the heart of Moniaive, making it a fantastic base to explore the pretty village on foot, with a friendly inn, an Italian restaurant, general stores, post office and a garage in the locality. The beautiful village of Thornhill is 8 miles away and the bustling town of Dumfries with its excellent shopping and leisure facilities is 18 miles. Explore the beautiful Galloway Forest Park. Tour the stunning Solway Firth boasting 200 miles of beautiful coastline or visit the nearby magnificent Drumlanrig Castle (9.5 miles), which hosts an array of yearly events and recently featured as a location for the hit TV series Outlander. Walkers can explore the fantastic countryside and forest trails including the Southern Upland Way and mountain bikers will be thrilled with a day trip to the famous 7Stanes, 25 miles away.

Very well equipped with some lovely touches like a bowl of fruit and cookies as well as luxury hand wash in the bathroom and kitchen and a condiment cupboard with basic items like flour, gravy powder and a full spice/herb rack. Coal and logs also supplied for the open fire and wood burner. Very impressed!
