A delightful and cosy property overlooking the River Edw and nestled within the gorgeous hills of mid-Wales. This is a perfect property for family fun or a couple’s retreat

Situated near Builth Wells, sandwiched between lush green hills, local farmland and a winding river. Explore this beautiful local area by foot or cycle or if you fancy something a little bit more adventurous try the horse riding trails or canoe trips. The small town of Builth Wells itself is bursting with history and offers everything you’d expect from a town of its size. You may wish to visit Groe Park (7 miles) which has 4 giant redwood trees planted well over a hundred years ago. Another popular Welsh spa town less than 10 miles away is Llandrindod Wells where you can visit the beautiful Rock Park Lake and Temple Gardens. Further northwest is the Elan Valley, an area of beautiful scenery with dams, reservoirs and waterfalls.

After all those adventures you’ll enjoy the comfortable and welcoming interior as you arrive into this mid-19th century stone cottage featuring exposed stone walls and oak beams. Offering the flexibility of accommodating 4 to 6 guests when travelling with two children. Enter through the porch into a spacious lounge with sofas, a TV/DVD with Amazon TV Firestick and an all inviting wood burner that gives you that authentic cottage experience. Through the alcove, you have a cosy dining area that will seat six. Straight ahead of the lounge and then down a few steps to the back of the property you will find a well-equipped kitchen complete with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge freezer. Enjoy lovely views of the garden and river while preparing meals. One more step down will take you into the utility room complete with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and a separate WC. Take the second set of stairs leading up from the utility to a large private twin room with sofa seating area and fantastic views over the river and countryside to the rear of the property. Head back through the kitchen to the lounge and up the second set of stairs which are more characteristic of this cottage (very steep and narrow) and you will find the large family bathroom in a quirky nook on your right complete with shower over bath and WC. Continue to the top of the stairs and along the landing, via the mezzanine, is the master bedroom with a comfortable and cosy double bed. The mezzanine level has an additional twin room set up which is perfect if travelling with children and offers wall-to-wall curtains for privacy. Outside, the pretty enclosed riverside garden with lawned area and covered patio means this beautiful, tranquil space can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

Sit back and relax on the garden furniture while you soak up the atmosphere, listening and watching for life in and around the river, you can also enjoy some alfresco dining with the charcoal BBQ. You have parking for two cars in front of the cottage on the roadside, and one parking space off-road. You could also store a few bikes under the patio roof in the garden.
