The property is located on a friendly smallholding with livestock in the neighbouring fields, less than 4 miles by car from Warkworth on the River Coquet or, leave the car and walk the shorter route (1 mile). Explore the history of the magnificent castle ruins, browse the independent shops and galleries in the village and enjoy a picnic on the sandy beach. There is a good choice of pubs and restaurants to choose from and a golf course with stunning sea views. Walk along the river to the nearby Amble Marina and watch the fishing boats land their catch, eat at the renowned seafood restaurants, walk around the pier, and visit the ice cream parlour for treats. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is just 11.5 miles away and offers a great day out too.

Step into the hallway of this welcoming property where you can leave your outdoor clothing and shoes. Head into the lounge with dual aspect windows offering views of the gardens to the front and side of the cottage, comfortable seating, and a feature fireplace housing the cosy, electric wood burner-effect fire for lazy evenings in. At mealtimes, the kitchen/diner comes with plenty of rustic charm and is a lovely place to sit together for sociable meals at the extending dining table. From here, sliding doors open onto the expansive garden. The family cook will find everything needed to make a great meal, including a range-style gas hob and electric oven, a microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. A cupboard off the hallway houses a fridge/freezer, while the utility room has a washing machine and a Belfast sink. A door from the utility area leads out onto the patio and orchard garden beyond. Three of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor: to the front is one double, and to the rear are a further two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and WC. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. Stairs from the lounge lead up to the first floor and the cosy and characterful fourth bedroom, set in the eaves with a double bed and Velux-style windows. Enjoy some friendly family sporting tournaments in the spacious games room/chill-out area with an air hockey table, a full-size pool table, and seating, also located on the first floor.

Outside, the wrap-around country garden has a table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ at the front where you can dine alfresco and watch the sunsets. You can see the buildings of the smallholding from the front garden and may have the odd duck waddling by to say hello. It's a great cottage, very clean, and has an extremely well equipped kitchen, it's in a brilliant location for exploring the Northumberland coast & countryside. Phillip was really friendly & helpful and thanks for the welcome pack on arrival, the bread & jam was lovely as well as the duck eggs a couple of days later. The games rooms was a real addeRead mored bonus, we had a fun time playing pool and air hockey but certainly need to improve our pool skills. Hide

A fantastic house! Philip our host, couldn't have been nicer and so accommodating. We barbecued in the lovely garden, spent family time playing pool in the games room and board games in the dining area. Loved the ducks and chicken visiting every day. The house was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Thankyou for a fabulous stay .

absolutely lovely cottage in a perfect area, so peaceful and away from it all but within a short drive to plenty of lovely places, the owner was about if needed with information about the area but left us to enjoy our holiday, the games room was fantastic and was used most nights we will definitely be returning to this cottage in the future

A delightful holiday home for a large family, set in a beautiful and peaceful location. The cottage is well equipped, and the children loved the farm animals. Great beach nearby with free parking. Warkworth Castle is well worth a visit.

Very well equipped and some lovely touches more than enough equipment in the kitchen bedrooms spaces. Beds comfortable. The games room is a added bonus. Lots off seating out side if you want to chill with a small whine. Fresh eggs in the morning is great. Enjoy your self

We had a lovely stay at Ford Cottage. Philip was a great host - we felt we had our privacy but knew he was nearby if we had any questions or problems. Also, Ive never stayed anywhere with such a well stocked kitchen! It had all the utensils and equipment I could possibly imagine!
