Brimming with history and thoughtfully styled with couples and families in mind, this quintessential cottage is a peaceful vantage point for exploring Snowdonia’s rugged landscape and spectacular coastline.

Studded amongst a row of stone cottages in the chocolate-box hamlet of Cwrt, this attractive 18th-century property sleeps four across two bedrooms. Pennal is just 0.5 miles away with its traditional hotel that boasts delicious pub fare as well as an impressive restaurant, and the delightful village of Aberdovey is 6 miles away with its beach, shops, eateries and many attractions. Active types will find adventure at every turn with woodland and coastal walks as well as exhilarating water sports such as paddleboarding, sailing and windsurfing. Golf is also possible too with an 18-hole championship golf course at your disposal, but you’ll just as easily while away the hours browsing the galleries, strolling across the beach and relaxing in a charming cafe with tea and cake.

Escape inside and be immediately greeted by a spacious hallway that leads to the lounge. Slate floors, painted beams and a stone fireplace set the scene, warmed throughout by the wood burner positioned within the hearth. Switch on the TV and sink into the sofa to catch up on your favourite shows or take a moment to simply sit and relax with a coffee on the armchair. A doorway leads to the rustic country cottage-style kitchen/diner, a chic space for rustling up hearty meals and enjoying them around the table. There is an under-counter double oven, ceramic hob, fridge with icebox, slimline dishwasher and a microwave, and the adjoining utility room is equipped with a washer/dryer, drying space and outside access. Back through to the hallway and up the stairs to the bedrooms, both of which are decorated in different styles to reflect the varied personality of the property. The king-size bedroom has built-in storage and bedroom furniture to complement the colourful feature wall, and the compact yet cosy twin bedroom is finished with a nautical theme and has bedroom furniture. Completing the property is an elegant bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

On balmy summer evenings, take a short walk from the property to the garden which is a sheer treat for drinks at the bistro table, and on colder nights the summerhouse is the perfect place to perch with your mug of hot cocoa. A babbling stream trickles past, and several parts of the garden are unenclosed, so you’ll be able to have a quick paddle if you wish. Children and pets should be supervised at all times. In terms of parking, there is a free car park nearby, and you’ll also have a secure storage outbuilding and separate storage for bikes or other sports equipment with bike washing facilities.

Lovely little cottage for up to three adults or two adults and two (smallish) children. Garden is not attached but did not bother us even with a dog, it is only a few meters walk. More kitchen staples for cooking/washing would have been nice as nearest shop is 15 minute drive away. The nearest beach in Aberdyfi is absolutely gorgeous and only 10 miRead morenutes drive or bus ride away. What bothered us was the parking situation which means walking along a busy road with no pavement with two young children. Hide

We found the property delightful. Although the garden is a short walk from the house, it's just lovely. We spent some lovely time by the stream and making dens. The house is well located for the local beaches and is within reach of other attractions that lie a little further afield. The house itself is well appointed, clean and comfortable. A beautiful little cottage with lots of character. Easy access to local towns and beaches, and nicely away from the hustle and bustle in picturesque countryside.

Lovely little cottage, beautifully fitted out & equipped. We chose the location to stay near friends who were camping on the outskirts of Aberdovey. We were disappointed with the proximity to what was a very fast stretch of road, & also the location of the garden, which we did not realise was not directly accessible to the property until we read thRead moree reviews on line - available after booking (although the weather did not allow us to use the garden, sadly). The cottage was clean & well equipped with a modern decor. It has everything you need for your stay {TV is very small}. Delightful cottage, light and airy and warm if needed, lovely decor, well equipped. Crisp cotton bedding and large towels and the place was clean throughout. Easy parking opposite. The garden was a hidden gem. Aberdovey and Machynlleth not too far away. Looking forward to staying again.

The cottage was beautiful and incredibly clean and tidy, with comfortable chairs and beds. It was also a good location close to beaches and mountains.
