Traditional Lakeland terrace property, less than 350 metres from the centre of the market town of Keswick with a great selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. A great base to explore the North Lakes.
This location is ideal for families or groups of friends. With much to do on your doorstep, it is very easy to leave the car and head out on foot. Many local fells are accessible, or stroll down to the lake shores of Derwentwater (0.5 miles) to catch the launch from Keswick across the lake and conquer the stunning Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities. For something more challenging, Skiddaw is a slightly longer, higher walk and, at over 3000 feet, on a clear day you can see far and wide. Keswick has an abundance of shops, including small independent traders, galleries, and of course tea rooms. The Theatre By The Lake has many well-known productions too.
Set over three floors, this property has been completely transformed into a practical, yet lovely, place to stay. As you step through the front door, you will find an entrance hall with the original flooring, leading through to the pleasant and comfortable open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has plenty of seating for all the party; it’s an ideal place to relax and contemplate the day’s activities and decide what to do next. A large, open-plan kitchen with a dining area will seat you all for drinks, games, and good conversation, or a hearty meal at the end of a day exploring. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas range-style cooker, microwave, and dishwasher. Should you get caught in the rain on the way home, there is a handy utility room with a washing machine, drying space, fridge and freezer. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; on the first floor there is a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom, complemented by the large family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, and WC. The second floor offers a bedroom with a super-king-size bed, with an adjacent shower room, which would be ideal for those wanting a little more privacy or convenience during their stay. A separate WC can be found just at the top of the stairs on the first landing, worthy of a visit to see the flamingos!
Heading outside from the utility room, you will find a small, enclosed yard that offers the perfect place to sip a morning coffee or enjoy evening drinks, and there is lockable storage should you wish to bring your bikes or any sports equipment. There are shops, bars, and restaurants within 300 metres of the property. Although there is no private parking the street does offer unrestricted parking throughout the year (subject to availability).
