For history enthusiasts, Berwick, Holy Island, Bamburgh, and Alnwick are all within easy driving distance, while the Pennine Way ends in Kirk Yetholm just 5 miles away.

Great property in a great location, Lovely and spacious, Clean & Tidy the telescope was a surprise. Some great places to visit locally, and used as base for longer trips Would like to revisit given chance

A lovely comfortable property with fantastic views both front and rear. Enjoyed watching hares in the field at the back chasing each other. Plus lots of bird life and deer. The dark night sky was phenomenal - no light pollution. Great location for exploring the coast, Cheviots, Scottish Borders and many other interesting places. This place was perfect for us, it was clean spacious and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. If you enjoy piece and quite then this is the perfect place to stay, we loved every minute of our stay here and will most definitely become regulars of the Bothy. We are planning on another stay here this year.

Fantastic ,clean , comfortable cottage. A great stay was had by all 4 of us and our 3 dogs. Beaches ,Castles, forests and great food enjoyed by all. Dog walk over the road was great for a quick stroll before setting off for the day. En suite showers lovely and utility area great for cleaning up dogs, boots etc. We can all thoroughly recommend the SRead morehip at Melrose, food was amazing though great everywhere. As was the kind hearted warmth of all the locals we met. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hide

A great property just a mile or two south of the Scottish borders and just north of the Northumberland National Park, lots of pleasant villages to visit nearby as well as kielder and all it has to offer. Completely enclosed for dogs or small children to play safely. We had a lovely stay and were very comfortable in the property. A beautiful, well presented modern cottage in a very quiet area. It was very clean on arrival. We have loved our stay here despite the bad weather. The Bothy is on the side of the road and you do hear the cars go by but the road is so quiet that it does not bother you. A welcome dog walk is just across the road. A fabulous cottage for anyone wishing to stay in a remote location, away from everything. Extremely comfortable and clean, and the owner has provided everything to ensure a fantastic stay. What we particularly enjoyed was the spaciousness and quietness, not forgetting the far extending views from the windows. The Bothy is a real getaway experience, the location, views, skies and wildlife make it really special, the accommodation is really well presented and spacious , with the added bonus of all being on a single level. Sue is a great host. We had a really wonderful time, we will recommend and would love to return.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable, quiet. Nice to watch farmers harvesting their crops round about. Good location for visiting tourist attractions around the area. We had 3 dogs with us and it was nice to open doors and let them out without worry of them escaping. Lovely.

We had such a peaceful & relaxing time at the Bothy. It was perfectly situated with stunning views and wildlife. We loved watching the Hare's and Barn owl on an evening. The weather wasn't particularly good but that did not spoil anything. The Bothy was spotlessly clean and very comfortable especially the Super king size bed. This lovely cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland and The Borders. It is Beautifully presented and little extras including fresh flowers and a welcome pack are a lovely touch.
