Escape day to day life, enjoy an abundance of walks or relax in front of the wood burner in this beautiful, thatched holiday cottage. Where no attention to detail has been forgotten making this a truly unforgettable retreat.

Situated in a quiet village location and within easy reach of shops, restaurants and pubs. Taunton, the County Town of Somerset, is 5 miles with an extensive shopping mix, restaurants, leisure facilities, the County Cricket ground and racecourse. There are miles of walks to be enjoyed directly from the property which meander through a rural landscape teeming with wildlife. Somerset Boat Centre is 3 miles away where you hire canoes, kayaks, self-drive motorboats, or charter a narrowboat. You’re centrally located for visiting the Somerset, Devon and Dorset coastlines including pretty Watchet and Blue Anchor Bay to the North and the popular seaside towns of Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth to the South. Other great day trips include Hestercombe Gardens (5 miles), Barrington Court (13.5 miles) and The West Somerset Steam Railway (12 miles).

Upon entering the beautiful accommodation, you are greeted by a thatched porch where you can hang coats and dry muddy paws after a countryside walk. Head into the lounge/diner which overlooks the garden and boasts a wood burner for those cooler evenings, settle in for a snug evening with a feast, a bottle of wine, and a film on the Smart TV. The lounge/diner leads to the well-equipped long galley kitchen, which is perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites, with a Rangemaster with gas hob and electric ovens. In the adjoining pantry you will find a fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Completing the downstairs accommodation is a useful separate WC.Heading upstairs from the lounge/diner you will find the two bedrooms, a double and a single. There is also a shower room with a shower and WC.

Venturing outside from the front door is an enclosed garden accessed via three steps with a seating area with a table and chairs. The garden is a perfect spot to enjoy some alfresco dining or a place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Situated on a quiet private no through road in a small hamlet near Taunton this thatched cottage attached to the owners has a welcoming feeling and whilst having an old world charm is enhanced with a modern upgrade in keeping with the original charm. Beautiful accommodation, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Nothing too much trouble for our host Rachael. Great location for sightseeing and lovely place to relax in the private garden at the beginning and end of each day.

Crown cottage was a lovely place for a getaway. My fianc, and I plus our dog enjoyed our time there. The host was lovely and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back.

We had a really lovely stay at Crown house cottage are really friendly host and made sure they did whatever they could to make our stay a happy one. The cottage is well equipped and Comfortable there is a secure garden where we could let our dog run free.
