Head along the river path to the harbour to watch the fishing boats come and go or enjoy a delicious meal in the local gastro pub which is located at the end of the road (150 metres away). Rye itself offers restaurants, art galleries and many independent shops – perfect for an afternoon stroll and keen walkers can enjoy following the canal path all the way to the pretty coastal town of Hythe, or use it to join up with other local footpaths that criss-cross the Kent and Sussex countryside. For the perfect summer’s day, head 4.5 miles to the sandy beach at Camber Sands.
The front door of this cottage opens into a spacious hallway with room for dropping off shoes and buckets and spades. Head through into the open-plan lounge/diner which is a wonderfully light and bright room with fantastic artwork adorning the walls. A large comfortable sofa and contemporary armchair offer a comfortable place to sit and while away the afternoon with a good book and a Smart TV ensures the whole family is entertained. A dining table and four chairs overlook the garden, creating the perfect spot for enjoying family meals together. Heading back into the main hallway a door leads into the well-equipped kitchen which offers an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and the ground floor is completed with a cloakroom with WC. Stairs from the hallway lead up to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, a king-size room and a twin – both of which enjoy views over the River Rother. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.
Patio doors open from the dining area onto a patio with a table and chairs. A small set of steps lead down to the lawned area and a shed where bikes can be stored. Gate at the rear of the garden give direct access to the Saxon Shore Way and views over the River Rother. There is unrestricted roadside parking at the front of the property (subject to availability).
