The Keswick Mountain Festival, held annually, offers three days of world-class sports, activities, talks, films, and live music events beside the lake. Derwentwater (2 miles) and Bassenthwaite (5 miles) are close by, and there are more of the regions iconic lakes within a 15 mile drive. From the property you can see the summits of Skiddaw and Latrigg – hence the name of this retreat, making this a great location for keen walkers. Discover Mirehouse and Gardens (3.5 miles) and from there you can walk down to St Bega's Chapel close to the shores of Bassenthwaite.
Park up and walk through this cottage’s private garden to the pretty entrance porch. You will find yourself in the well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The kitchen leads into the lounge with views over the garden and to the shoulder of Skiddaw. The lounge has comfortable seating so kick back and relax after a day out on the fells, whilst you catch up on your favourite series on the Smart TV (with a separate DVD player) and enjoy the cosy electric fire. There is also a dining area within the lounge where you can enjoy breakfast or an evening meal and make plans for the rest of your stay. From the lounge, you will find the spacious double bedroom with a TV with a DVD player. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The bedroom looks out over the garden and to the summit of Latrigg in the distance. The accommodation is all on the ground floor and the walk from the car parking space is almost level.
Outside there is a well-established cottage-style garden with two small water features – also a magnificent view to the summit of Skiddaw. There is garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ provided. The property has its own adjacent boiler room where you will find a washer/dryer for your personal use. There is private parking for one car.
